ToworkonthepermanenttranslationstaffofoneoftheEUinstitutions,youmustbecomeanEUofficialwhichmeansbeingsuccessfulinanopenrecruitmentcompetition.

MinimumrequirementsYouwillneedtomeetafewbasicrequirementstotakepartinarecruitmentcompetitionfortranslators.

Formalqualifications

Youmusthavecompletedafulluniversitylevelcourseofatleastthreeyearsandobtainedadegree.

Professionalexperience

Noprofessionalexperienceisrequiredandtherearenoagelimits.

Languageskills

Youmust:

haveaperfectcommandofyourmothertongue/mainlanguage(language1)haveathoroughknowledgeofEnglish,FrenchorGerman(language2)andbeabletotranslateoutofitinadditiontolanguages1and2,haveathoroughknowledgeofasecondlanguage(language3)andbeabletotranslateoutofit.

AllthreelanguagesmustbeofficiallanguagesoftheEuropeanUnion.Specificlanguagerequirementswillbeindicatedinthecompetitionnotice.
