If you arrive by plane

Capodichino Airport (http://www.aeroportodinapoli.it/homepage) is very close to the city and is

located at the East border of Naples. Domestic and International flights from most of European cities

land at Naples Capodichino Airport. The easiest way to reach the Stazione Zoologica is to take a taxi

or bus. You will find both just outside the arrival terminal at Naples Airport.

- Bus: Alibus (http://www.anm.it/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1314) goes

directly to the Central Railway Station (Stazione Centrale) in Piazza Garibaldi. Alibus leaves from the

airport every 30 minutes, from 6.00 a.m. up to 11.00 p. m. The ticket costs € 5.00; it can be

purchased on the bus from the driver or authorised retailers, and can be validated on board. It

allows one journey on the shuttlebus and is valid for 90 minutes from the first validation.

- Taxi: the taxi lane is located just outside the arrivals. Flat rates

reach the Stazione Zoologica/Villa Comunale you can ask the driver to use the predetermined fare

for “Aliscafi/Mergellina”. The predetermined rates include any extra charge (to/from airport, night

ride, holiday, luggage, animals). The rates are valid for the whole day on weekdays and holidays.

Controlled Traffic Zones of the Historic Center have special prices: € 7.00 (zone 1) and € 9.00 (zone

2). For predetermined fares there no need to use the taximeter. The fixed rate is for the total

number of passengers on board the taxi. The tariff, available in Italian and English, must be displayed

on the back of the front seat of the car to allow the user to choose the tariff system. Hotels, travel

agencies, shipping companies can create an agreement with taxi services. Under these agreements

If you arrive by train

Trenitalia (http://www.trenitalia.com/tcom-en) and Italo (https://www.italotreno.it/en) trains get

to Naples Central Railway Station (Napoli Centrale), in the center of the city (Piazza Garibaldi).

Domestic and International trains reach Naples Station. From the Central Railway Station you can

get to the Stazione Zoologica either by taxi, or by Metro Linea 2. Getting by bus is more complex

and may require more time.

- Metro Linea 2: it is possible to reach Stazione Zoologica by taking the Metro Linea 2, direction

Pozzuoli, getting off at Piazza Amedeo Station (3rd stop, approx. 20 min)

(http://www.trenitalia.com/tcom/Treni-Regionali/Campania/metro-napoli). The Metro Linea 2

station is inside Central Railway Station in Piazza Garibaldi. The ticket costs € 1.30, and can be

purchased at authorised retailers (including tobacco shops) or at automatic ticket offices. Note that

for Metro Linea 2 you will need a Trenitalia ticket (i.e., Alibus ticket is not valid), and that tickets

must be validated before getting on the train. Our Institute is within walking distance (10 minutes)

from Piazza Amedeo Station (see map).

If you arrive by car

The coordinates of the Stazione Zoologica are 40°49'58.3"N 14°14'09.6"E. Controlled Traffic Zones

are active in different areas of the city, with limited or no access. In the vicinity of the Stazione

Zoologica street parking is permitted inside painted blue lines upon payment at automatic ticket

offices; in addition, several toll parkings are available. Your hotels or b&b may have an agreement

with a parking for special tariffs.
