  • Institutional Framework

    The Eurodesk network has existed since 1990 and it is a recognised support structure underErasmus+ → the EU programme for education, training, youth and sport. It has been recognised as an important service in accordance with the → EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027, adopted by the EU Council in 2018

    The UK National Agency is responsible for the management and delivery of the Erasmus+ programme in the UK, it is a partnership between the British Council and Ecorys UK.

    UK-wide network of Partners and Ambassadors work across the UK to ensure that young people and those who work with them on a local/regional/national level become informed about the opportunities available to them.

    to provide a central resource for information in the

    European youth field.

    Loans -Internships and much more!

  • Reliable mobility information for young people through access to tools like

    Eurodesk intranet, programmes database and the European Youth Portal.

    National support and online/offline opportunities:

    → Networking and partner-finding forums for your projects.

    → Funding opportunities.

    → Promotional materials.

    Training opportunities.

    → Updates on training opportunities for youth professionals (webinars).

    → Research and statistics about the youth sector in Europe.

    KEY SERVICES TO MULTIPLIERS

  • Highlighting some initiatives for young people ✔ Content curated by Eurodesk → UK partners contribute blog posts providing

    advice according to Eurodesk guidelines relating to opportunities in Europe,

    such as competitions, internships, democratic campaigns and events.

    ✔ The site has 9 themes; most of which come from the EU Youth Strategy; it is

    powerful communication and dissemination tool

    ✔ → 2 million page views in June 2018 . ✔ → 159% growth of the UK performance compared to last year, which makes it the

    most visited country page on the EYP.

    ✔ There is also the ‘Ask a question’ service, which enables young people (or organisations) to get advice from a real person by submitting queries through a

    form on the site.

  • European Solidarity Corps the new EU initiative which aims at giving young people across the EU the opportunity to volunteer where help is needed and to respond to

    crisis situations

    Eurodesk has a clear role to play in delivering three of the priorities mentioned in the EU Youth Strategy

    > CONNECT → Reaching out to those with fewer opportunities thought multiplier events and digital promotional efforts.

    > ENGAGE → Promote participation in democratic life and access to quality information in all policy areas.

    > EMPOWER → Structured dialogue is a process for discussions between young people and EU. There are different estructures where young people can influence policy such as EU Youth Ministers; EU Youth Parliament; European Youth Forum ; National consultations etc.

    In the UK the process of structured dialogue is led by the elected UK Young Ambassadors and the British Youth Council who consult other youth organisations, stakeholders and young people.
