Claude Monet's House and Gardens Visit

Adventurers choose if they want to walk, bike or take a motor coach to the stunning Giverny landscape. At the house, everyone will meet up for a privately-guided visit that includes the lush gardens where French impressionist painter Claude Monet found inspiration for some of his most renowned works including, Water Lilies

and Wheatstacks.

Learn to Paint at Giverny Museum of Impressionisms

Discover the works of Monet and see the influence that his work had on his contemporaries, as well as generations of artists that followed him. Junior Adventurers will get a painting lesson with a real haystack set up for inspiration.

Lunch On Board the Ship

Head back to the ship for a delightful lunch before heading back to Vernon for an afternoon of adventure.

OPTION A: Chateau de Bizy

Marvel at the ornate castle and stunning gardens that showcase a true passion for elegance. This amazing castle and vast gardens, now a historic monument, was begun in 1740 with successive owners adding their own touches through the years. The gardens boast a splendid collection of fountains, and English vegetable garden and The Promenade de Venus, an old French garden whose Avenue des Capucins leads directly to the Seine. Adventurers will have the opportunity to participate in traditional French lawn games and enjoy refreshments on the beautiful grounds.

OPTION B: On Your Own in Vernon

Adventurers may choose to explore the lovely historical district of Vernon, located on the banks of the river Seine and home to quaint shops, cafés and restaurants, as well as sites like the Old Mill, the Archives Tower, Tourelles Castle and the House of Long Ago.

OPTION C: On Your Own Bicycle Ride in Vernon

Enjoy a leisurely, On Your Own bike ride through the town of Vernon where you can explore the historical district and its Gothic architecture, 12th-century castles and the famous old mill.

Return to the ship for a lovely dinner where you can share stories of your day.

Junior Adventurer Movie Night

Spend the day on the beaches of Normandy, including Omaha Beach, the site of the famed D-Day invasion.

Honor the brave American soldiers who fought to defend our freedom in World War II on Normandy Beach—the site where an armada of Allied troops landed on D-Day.

Barbeque Lunch

Feed your appetite with a mouth-watering barbeque.

Normandy Beach Tour

Continue your tour of Normandy Beach with a visit to the Army Combat Engineers headquarters at a nearby chateau, enjoy a calvados and cider tasting along with a hands-on equipment demonstration, and visit the historic battle site at Pointe du Hoc, where US Army Rangers scaled the 100 foot cliffs that overlook the English Channel on Normandy’s coast.

Étretat Cliffs Hike

Take in the breathtaking views as you hike at the beautiful seaside commune and farming town of Étretat, known for its stunning chalk cliffs, which include three natural arches and a pointed formation known as the Needle, which reaches a height of 230 feet (70 meters) above the sea overlooking the English Channel.

On Your Own Time in Étretat Village

Enjoy some time on your own exploring the quaint seaside village which is home to the Notre-Dame de la garde Chapel which was built by sailors in the 19th century, as well as the old market square that is home to a number of charming boutiques and shops featuring local cheese and apple products.


Head back to the ship and enjoy a lovely lunch before setting out for an afternoon of adventure.


OPTION A: On Your Own Time in Honfleur

Spend the afternoon strolling and shopping through the picturesque coastal town of Honfleur, whose Vieux-Bassin (old harbor) has served as the inspiration for artists that include Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin and Claude Monet. The town, located where the Seine meets the English Channel, is home to the Sainte-Catherine church, a 15th-century church built by shipbuilders and is the largest wooden church in France.

OPTION B: Apple Orchard & Calvados Tasting

Spend the afternoon touring a local apple orchard, where you’ll learn about – and taste – calvados, a sweet apple brandy that is a specialty of the Normandy region.

OPTION C: Both Option A & B With Briefer On Your Own Time in Honfleur

Tour a local apple orchard and enjoy a calvados tasting, plus spend some time on your own in the lovely town of Hornfleur.

Reward yourself with spectacular views of the Seine and the Normandy countryside after an exhilarating hike 300 feet (90 meters) above the commune of Les Andelys to the Chȃteau Gaillard, a ruined medieval castle that was constructed in 1196 AD under Richard the Lionheart.

OPTION B: Chȃteau Gaillard Bike

Bike the trails around the provincial town of Les Andelys, where you’ll enjoy a scenic ride through the pastoral landscape, as well as a view of Chȃteau Gaillard 300 feet (90 meters) above.

OPTION C: Chȃteau Gaillard Hike and Bike

For those fit Adventurers with extra energy to burn, get the best of both worlds as you take to the hiking and biking trails. Your bike ride takes you on the trails throughout the provincial town of Les Andelys, followed by a hike where you will ascend 300 feet (90 meters) up to the medieval masterpiece, Chateau Gaillard, for magnificent views of Les Andelys and the Seine.

DAY 7: Conflans, France

OPTION A: Visit Chateau Malmaison

Explore this exquisite French castle and its accompanying park that was once home to Napoleon and Josephine Bonaparte, as well as the headquarters of the French government from 1800 to 1802. It now serves as a national museum.

OPTION B: Visit Auvers-Sur-Oise

Get inspired on your visit to this commune in Paris’ northwest suburbs where, during the 19th century, artists including, Paul Cézanne, Camille Pissarro and Jean-Baptise-Camille Corot. Most notably, however, was Vincent van Gogh, who lived and painted here. The guided visit includes the final resting cemetery of both Vincent and Theo van Gogh, as well as a look inside the boarding house where Vincent last lived.


Head back to the ship and enjoy a lovely lunch on board.


OPTION A: Scenic Sail to Paris

Upon arrival at Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), follow airport signage to the baggage claim area. Once inside the baggage claim area, please look for

your driver who will be holding a sign listing the last name of the lead Guest on your reservation. This driver is available to assist you with your

baggage and will provide your transportation to the hotel.

What airport do I fly into and out of?Arrival: We will pick you up from Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) on your arrival day. Your flight should arrive no later than 1:00 PM.

Departure: At the conclusion of your adventure, we will transfer you to Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) for your return flight home.

If you are continuing with the Adventures by Disney optional extension package at the Disneyland Paris Resort, you will be transferred to Charles de

How will our group travel between destinations?Throughout the adventure, Guests will travel between destinations on board the AmaWaterways ship. During excursions, Guests will travel by motor

coach.

How strenuous are the activities?




While this adventure is not considered physically strenuous, there are some activity options that are, indeed, physically strenuous, while others are

not. Most days will include 2 or more hours of walking, sometimes on uneven cobblestone streets. The escorted bike rides are not suited for a child

who is 10 years old or younger. For all bike rides, we strongly recommend that Guests be in shape, know how to ride a bike, have ridden a bike

recently and know that the bike ride will take place on a solid surface, gravel and cobblestoned, through towns, along the river, near traffic, crossing

streets, etc. Bike trails are not on grass. Please note: Guest wishing to bike on their own can visit the Cruise Manager to reserve a bicycle. There will

be a couple of “junior” bikes onboard that are suited for a 9-year-old to 12-year-old child, depending on their size. However the Cruise Manager will

need to see in person any child under 9 year old or any small child, since small-sized bikes and helmets need to be outsourced. Also, since we always

put safety first and try to prevent accidents, if the Cruise Manager determines that a child shouldn’t ride a bike, he or she will give that child other

activity options.

While nearly all of the trip's featured activities are gentle if examined separately, the full range of activities requires a moderate amount of stamina in

order to get the most of your vacation.

Can I sail if I am pregnant?For the safety of parent and child, and depending on various circumstances, passengers who are at an advanced stage of pregnancy (after 5 months)

may be subject to restrictions or exclusion by AmaWaterways concerning their ability to travel and/or board the ship, including denial of passage on

the ship. Please inform us immediately if you will be at such an advanced stage of pregnancy at any time during sailing. Adventures by Disney cannot

be held responsible or liable for any complications relating to pregnancy at any stage.

What ages are appropriate for this adventure?While we welcome children ages 4 and up for our River Cruise trip, we recommend that children be at least 8 years old at the time of travel. This is

based on several factors, such as flight time, jet lag, time zone differences between destinations, vacation duration, extended hours of daily activity

programming and the amount of physical activity (e.g., walking) involved. Because each child is different, call a Vacationista at (800) 543-0865† to

discuss whether this is the right trip for your little ones.

What types of meals are served on this Adventures by Disney Trip?Typically, breakfast is buffet-style. Dinners and lunches usually include fish, meat, and pasta or rice entrées; vegetables and salad; and desserts and

fruit. Some meals on the trip are served buffet-style while others offer a limited-choice menu. Given the nature of group travel, we regret that á la

carte menu choices may not always be available. Child-friendly choices are available at all meals. Menu items are subject to change due to the

availability and seasonality of foods. In order to offer you and your family time to enjoy meals amongst yourselves, there are a few meals that are not

included in the itinerary. These meals have been planned in areas where you will have plenty of options available.

Is alcohol included with meals?Wine and beer are included during scheduled meals in the ship’s dining room.

Can you accommodate special dietary needs?Adventures by Disney will make a reasonable effort to accommodate some special dietary needs at no additional charge. Unfortunately, we may not

be able to accommodate all special dietary needs requested. Please contact a Vacationista at (800) 543-0865† in advance of your departure to advise

us of your needs.

Is this itinerary appropriate for travelers with special needs?Please note that this vacation includes activities that present certain challenges to Guests with special needs. It is strongly recommended that persons

requiring assistance be accompanied by a companion who is capable of, and solely responsible for, providing assistance. Neither Adventures by Disney

nor its suppliers may physically lift or assist Guests onto transportation vehicles. Contact a Vacationista at (800) 543-0865† to discuss your needs.

What is the primary language and currency of this destination?While the primary language of this trip is French, many people speak some English. The unit of currency in France is the Euro. U.S. dollars are not

accepted at hotels, shops or restaurants, but ATM machines are available in most places along your adventure so you can obtain cash in the local

currency. Most hotels and restaurants accept major credit cards or debit cards in addition to travelers' checks. Your Adventure Guide can help you

with any currency issues or language barriers you may encounter.

Are tips included?Adventures by Disney has taken care of gratuities for all included meals and activities, such as tips for porters, housekeepers, drivers, activity

providers, local experts and all crew. Gratuities for your Adventure Guides are also included.

What if Adventures by Disney cancels the adventure prior to departure?We will make every reasonable effort to operate the vacations as advertised; however, we reserve the right to curtail or modify the itinerary, or to

substitute activities, hotels, meals or transportation as we deem necessary. We further reserve the right to reduce the number of Adventure Guides to

one, and to modify other services to accommodate a smaller group, if a minimum number of Guests is not reached. Similarly, we may marginally

exceed the stated group maximum size if necessary to accommodate a family. Please also note that during certain holidays and peak periods, some

activities may be disrupted or unavailable. None of these modifications or changes shall affect the land package price. We reserve the right to cancel

a trip at any time prior to its commencement for any reason, such as if there are too few Guests, or if the quality of the trip or the safety of the Guests




would, in our opinion, be compromised, such as may result from unforeseen circumstances (acts of God) or other circumstances beyond our

reasonable control.

If we cancel your trip prior to its commencement because there are too few Guests: (i) we will attempt to re-book you on another departure of the

same itinerary, subject to availability, and we will bear any reasonable airline re-booking charges; however, if we are unable to rebook you, we will

issue a full refund of your land package price and Plan (unless you have filed a claim); and (ii) if you booked airfare through us, we will issue a full

refund of your airfare; and (iii) if you did not book airfare through us, we will reimburse you for your reasonable out-of-pocket (subject to proof) airline

cancellation charges or, in the case of bookings using frequent flier miles, a reasonable cancellation service fee, provided you have exercised best

efforts to mitigate such charges/fees; and (iv) the aforesaid payments and/or rebooking by us shall constitute a full settlement.

What are the Terms and Conditions of the Adventures by Disney Guaranteed Departure Program?Adventures by Disney Travel Services, Inc. will not cancel any: (i) regularly scheduled departure less than 70 days prior to its scheduled start date; or

(ii) any other departure, as identified by Adventures by Disney Travel Services, Inc., prior to its scheduled start date, except if cancellation of the same

is due to: (A) non-payment by the Guest; or (B) factors beyond our reasonable control, such as, but not limited to: industry-wide strikes, civil unrest,

embargos, fires, explosions, floods, earthquakes, typhoons or similar severe storms, wars (whether declared or not), or acts or threats of terrorism or

a direct response to the same, in which case the provisions of our standard Terms and Conditions shall apply. The Adventures by Disney Guaranteed

Departure Program does not apply to any Adventures by Disney packages offered in conjunction with any Disney Cruise Line cruise.
