“The ECCA academy is an interesting and exciting way to learn more about

coil coating. It has been a pleasure for me to work through the exams of the

ECCA academy. It gives a very good overview of the coil coating process.”

New project: ECCA Quality Label|

29

Page 30: European Coil Coating Association - Prepainted Metal

Why an ECCA quality label?

Increasing amount of organic coated coils entering the

market are not suitable for external building

applications and do not fulfill EN and national

standards’ requirements

Negative influence on the image of coil coated

materials in general

Pressure on prepainted suppliers to follow this

product downgrading to be competitive

Detrimental for the long term product durability

and coil coating business

Page 31: European Coil Coating Association - Prepainted Metal

Quality LabelContents

 Both technical and sustainability criteria

Both product and manufacturer specific requirements

 Independent inspection and certification

A Quality Label, which ensures that the processes

of manufacturing are done in accordance to

well-defined standards

Application for the Q-Label by written statement

Application for the Q-Label by independent certification
