1: Make AV Items in Europeana Collections More Visible

• TF strongly encourages the development of a AV materials strip in e.g. the list style search result template - as per approval from the PO Collections

2: Create Opportunities to Include AV Content in Curation

• Performed a pilot with MarComms team on feasibility of using AV materials

• Feasibility is there, but not all content providers equally at ease with content use, so consultations - via expert hubs - always recommended

• Further research encouraged into attitudes towards content sharing amongst content partners

• Pilot case for creation: Work with Amara - pilot work taken on in DSI-1, TBC under DSI-2 and 3. Expand?

• Potential solution for display via WebVTT standard, and planned implementation by (AV) IIIF

• Potential overlap for retrieval with infrastructural work planned for DSI-3?

• “In DSI3 Europeana will need to investigate, ideally also implement, a technical stack much more capable of ingesting, storing, indexing and distributing freetext, including transcriptions made by users”
