Guide to entries
This Meetings Issue of Europhysics News, contains details of future meetings about which notification was received at the Main Secretariat in Geneva by April 1974. The events are listed in date order in two categories - Conferences and ‘Summer’ Schools. Meetings organized by EPS, its Divisions and Sections are printed in bold type and boxed ; those sponsored by EPS are printed in bold type.
In general, meetings are open to all applicants ; where attendance is known to be restricted to invited applicants, this is indicated by ‘inv.’. The information is given in the following order :
DateTitleVenueContact for information
A: Application deadline / Ab: Abstracts deadline / P : Papers deadline / Number of participants / inv. : by invitation only.Languages other than English / Sponsorship / Conference fee.
In the first instance, all enquiries about EPS Sponsorship and for the ‘Europhysics’ label for Study Conferences should be sent to the Main Secretariat of the European Physical Society.
Conference and ‘summer’ school organizers who wish to have their meetings included in the next Meetings Issue of Europhysics News should apply to :
Main Secretariat,European Physical Society,P.O. Box 39,CH-1213 PETIT-LANCY 2, Switzerland.The Main Secretariat will forward
questionnaires for completion and return.

DYNAMICAL PROPERTIES OF SOLIDS in three volumesEdited by G. K. HORTON (Rutgers University) and A. A. MARADUDIN (University of California, Irvine)This series of volumes contains detailed discussions of all topics of current theoretical and experimental interest in the field of lattice dynamics. The discussion of these topics is prefaced by chapters dealing with the fundamental concepts of the theory of lattice dynamics, which make this series of books a self- contained exposition of the subject. Each chapter is written by one or more experts in the subject matter of the chapter. These books should be of interest and of use to all workers in the field of the dynamical properties of solids, as well as to solid state theorists in general.Volume I:CRYSTALLINE SOLIDS,FUNDAMENTALS.1974, scheduled for June CONTENTS:A.
