The T2550 PAC brings high availability withaffordability and, utilising E-Sync technology,minimises engineering costs, shortens time toimplement and simplifies lifetime maintenance.
Using T2550 reduces engineering costs and its highavailability maximises your process uptime. In its duplexmode it offers redundancy of processors, power supply,recording and network at a price performance level thathas never been seen before. The controller/recorderredundancy is automatically commissioned – simply plugthe additional processor module into the redundant baseand initiate the E-Sync technology with a single buttonpress on the front of the unit. During this process all filesfrom the primary processor are copied to the secondaryto allow the secondary processor to mirror and monitorthe primary. No special cabling or engineering isrequired to configure a secondary processor.
Changeover to a secondary controller is automatic withuninterrupted control and bumpless transfer ofcommunications and process I/O. Replacement of aprocessor or I/O module can be done with the power onand initialisation is automatic. These powerful featurescombine with the very high MTBF of the system’s I/O andpassive backplanes to provide extremely high systemavailability.
T2550 also supports online reconfiguration for modifyingor enhancing the existing configuration while stillcontrolling and monitoring the process plant. Withsupport for adding and hot swapping the I/O modules,active strategy components can be modified to supportsystem enhancements and improve the lifetimeavailability of the plant.

Online reconfiguration
Online reconfiguration provides a useful foundation forenhancement of the deployed control system and allowsmodification of the systems application software when itis running. You can add and delete function blocks andwires to create a new or improved control strategy foryour application while the process is running. You canthen try and untry the strategy to ensure it is correct foryour application before finally applying.

A unique feature of the T2550 PAC is secure redundantdata recording. This allows data, alarm information andmessages to be recorded at the point of measurement,with all data being time stamped as it is recorded,satisfying regulations such as the FDA 21CFR Part 11 orNadcap.
Secure data recording is always important, and in manyprocesses is vital to the end product. Using theredundant processor and power supply capabilities of theT2550 PAC not only records data but can mirror it into asecondary processor. This ensures that as long as theprocess is running secure data is maintained and isavailable over the communications network.
If communications is lost for any reason the data is stillavailable for forwarding when communications isrestored ensuring that any holes in the supervisoryvisualisation software are closed to provide a completepicture of the process.
With up to several months of data stored in the internalflash memory Data can either be pushed over FTP toprimary, secondary or tertiary servers – effectivelyproviding a secure infinite archiving capacity.

Data can also be pulled into multiple sources where it isneeded for batch, process and analysis reporting, andforms the primary source of data archive for the FDA orsimilar. When the T2550 is used with the Eurotherm DCSsolution any loss in communication causing gaps in dataat the top end system will automatically be filled in fromthe secure files at the instrument when communicationsis restored.

T820 HMIThe T820 is a graphic display unit with integrated keypadfor operator data entry. It is ideal for use with the T2550(in simplex or duplex mode) to provide a cost effectivelocal HMI.
Setpoint Programmer
Many applications have a need to vary the process valueover time. One in particular, temperature control, oftenneeds to ramp the process from one level to another andperhaps maintain that value for a set period using a setpoint program. The T2550 PAC has the ability to runmultiple set point programs, up to 32 segments in each,following pre programmed values for up to 8 analoguevalues and 128 digital.
Configured using either a PC based setpoint programmerwizard, or the Setpoint program editor software withinLINTools configuration software or integrated into asystem with Eycon 10 or Eycon 20 Visual supervisors, thesetpoint programmer.

Easy replacements and upgrades
During the life time of a process there will be times whenmodules need to be replaced or added to the system.The ability to hot swap I/O and processor modules on theT2550 PAC makes this process fast and simple. If theprocessors are in duplex mode, one can be replacedwithout the need to stop the process and, utilising E-SyncTechnology, is synchronised back with the system by asingle button press. If the T2550 is in simplex mode asecond processor can be added at any time with simpleengineering the system can quickly be upgraded andcontinue to run now with the added assurance of beingin duplex mode.
Each processor contains a compact flash card that holdsits firmware, application and configuration files – its“personality”. If a processor needs to be replaced insimplex mode the user can simply take a standard spareprocessor and insert the personality flash card. There isno need to hold pre-configured spares and any downtimeis minimised with this simple process.

The T2550 PAC is suitable for precisioncontrol of temperature, carbon potential,dewpoint and oxygen in Atmosphere heattreatment applications. Providing support fora wide variety of Carbon Probes the Zirconiafunction block derives Oxygen, Carbon andDewpoint values from a Probe connected tothe I/O subsystem, and can be used tocontrol the carbon potential, dewpoint oroxygen in a furnace or as an integratedfurnace controller where any or all of thesevariables are controlled in conjunction withthe temperature.
