Evaluation 6What have you learnt about technologies from the process of

constructing this product?

At the start of the year, I was pretty clueless about most technology! In this sideshow, I will present all the new media types I was introduced to and eventually had to learn to produce my final product.

YoutubeI had no idea how to upload a YouTube video before, seeing as I only used my account to watch videos and never before had even looked at my own 'channel.' It was a surprisingly easy process (although sometimes the videos took a long time to upload, so I had to leave it running for a while,) as there were easy tutorials to guide you through uploading.

Final CutUsing Final Cut was definitely the biggest struggle I faced when making my film. I had never even used the program before my Media A level and was lucky enough to have a family member that had already purchased and installed it into their laptop. With the help of my brother, he taught me the basics of using Final Cut and I figured out the rest (for example, colouring, sound quality, etc etc) by myself.

PreziPrezi was a program that I had seen many of my teachers and some students using, but I never quite knew what it was before. Now thought, I know it's essentially a more elaborate Powerpoint software, and I much prefer using it to Microsoft's Powerpont- purely for the aesthetic reasons. It's been my go-to for presenting large amounts of texts as I find it to be much more engaging and interesting than a simple block of text.

BloggerHaving heard of Tumblr (another blogging platform) before, I assumed Blogger would be very similar and not difficult to use at all. Although it wasn't very difficult to use, finding the right sort of theme for my blog was a struggle, as well as constraining all the photos that I used into a post as before they overhung the 'text box.'

Overall, I've learnt a lot of new techniques with both simple platforms like Blogger to more complex software like Final Cut. Learning all these new skills showed me just how much I don't know about computers, being the self-confessed computer addict that I am, so I look forward to extending my knowledge even further.
