Evaluation 7

IntroductionDuring this media project there are may things which I have learned that have been very useful in improving my work. There are many new things that I have learned and new techniques which I have devoted my time to learn, among learning new techniques for filming, I have also learned how to use Sony Vegas 9. this is an editing software which allows you to quite simply create your own movie if you have footage.In the next slides I will be talking of what I've learned, what I've improved and finally what I've been able to do with it.

CameraThis was the hardest object to work with, the reason for this is due to the many function which I had to learn to be able to film. Some of the function are shot types, framing, the 180 degree rule etc… Learning to master these function are not actually that difficult, it just takes practise and determination and in no time you will easily learn all of these technique's. Its also hard to remember some definitions, on the next slide I will give some examples of what ive learned.

ExampleDuring the period we were filming we had to learn all the different meanings and ways in which we could use the shots for the film.A example of this for example was learning the 180 degree rule, this shot is used for example during a conversation, the camera is angled in a way I which the camera angle almost suggests like the character is talking to the other and the angle at which its placed at almost seems like we are in the other characters shoes this picture will explain better.

Mise-en-sceneCreating a Mise en scene I think in my opinion was the hardest thing to do, this involved creating your own little world and trying to fit all of your ideas in them, with this in mind I manage to come up with the idea of a pandemic break out and the destruction of human society, I managed to do this by expanding my idea as in to look as the pandemic was cause more or less years ago. This is shown I my example, the ball o the bench we made to look old as in trying to prove that it has been some years since the pandemic has broken out.

Use of editingLearning how to edit isn’t a walk I the park, it took me and my companion a while before we exactly knew what it was that we were doing, however due to improving our skills in editing we were able to make the motion picture as fluent as possible as if the character was actually being chased. We also managed to mix in music and sound to this in order to attract the audience more and actually for it to look and sound a lot better.Due to editing we were also able get a few good shots of the main character going into a classroom as he's being attacked by infected the picture should explain better.

Use of soundDue to the plot of the movie we had to come up with some form of getting sounds and music into the movie I order to make it more exiting, this involved us hours and hours of searching the internet for ideas and going through the apple store to find a way of making or own sounds and music (extra marks) after hours of searching we found a website which allowed us to use the sounds ad music on the site, but it only let us do this because we were students and the website made this very clear. The next picture is the tittle of the movie, however in the movie when the tittle shows up we can hear the sounds of gun shots, zombies and finally quite a creepy soundtrack.

Creation of tittlesFinally we have the creation of tittles. This was a task we had to improve on due to needing credits in the film, we improved in a way that allowed us to create our own tittles with our own backgrounds ad even with any style of writing. The picture shows one of the tittles which we made originally for the movie but then edited out due to it looking way to cheerful for a horror movie.
