PROCESS OF

CONSTRUCTING THIS

PRODUCT?

Technology has changed greatly throughout history and thus

changing our perspective of films. Films are supposed to take

the audience on an emotional journey in a way in which they

can relate.

During our the time of our project we used a number of

dif ferent technology. I think one of the main ones was Blogger.

Blogger is an easy access site where it allowed the students

and teachers to interact. This is useful as our work is recorded

on the blog.

TECHNOLOGIES USED

The video camera is one of the most important pieces of technology

out of the others as that was what we filmed our footage on. The

good thing about the camera was that we could review our shots on

the camera and see if it was ok or not and that it filmed well in

lowered lighting.

VIDEO CAMERA AND SD CARDS

The SD cards were also important as that was where all our footage

was saved on. SD cards can be used to quickly transfer items onto a

computer. We used them to transform our footage onto the hard

drive so it was backed up in case anything was unintentionally

deleted.

This software was used to create our distribution company ident

‘RedLine Pictures ’ . By creating our own company, it showed that

our thriller ‘Code Red ’ is a low budget film that should be

supported by an independent company by the likes of this one.

MOTION 4

Motion is a creative software which allowed us to play around

with the effects and animations to help up decide on what we

thought would be an appropriate ident for the company. It was

very useful for what we needed to make.

Final Cut Pro and Soundtrack Pro

Final Cut Pro is the software we used to edit the clips together and make it a whole piece.

SoundTrack Pro is where we created the sound track for the opening.

We combined the two by exporting the soundtrack we made on SoundTrack Pro into Final Cut Pro to overlap over the sound over our actual footage. We also exported a few foley sounds so it can be edited into the sequence that we’ve put together.

COMBINING TECHNOLOGIES

Hard Drive and Blogger

The hard drive was where we stored all the work we did on the different softwares that we used. For example, the soundtrack, edit in Final Cut Pro, any pictures etc.

Blogger was where we posted all our work that we had done for our coursework.

The two were combined because we had to post many exercise that we did through this as it was all saved in here. The hard drive was also combined with the SD cards as mentioned before

COMBINING TECHNOLOGIES

Overall, I would say that all of these

technologies are very useful. This is

because they all had very important

roles in the final outcome of the

thriller opening. I would say that Final

Cut Pro, Sound Track Pro and Motion

4 have more of a creative element.

This is because these softwares allow

you to choose how and what you want

to do to your project.
