How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages

Research and Planning

I used these technologies in the research and the planning of my documentary, I used the internet to research possible interviewee’s for our documentary and also to find archive footage . I used Microsoft Word to design our target audience questionnaire for our documentary and also to write our running order and the TV scheduling of the documentary. PowerPoint was used to create presentations that were used to analyse the codes and conventions of real media texts.

Construction I used these 3 technologies at different parts of the advanced production, I used the video camera for the recording of the interviews that were taken and was also used for when we recorded cutaways for our documentary. Using a video camera was one of the most important pieces of equipment I used in the making of the documentary. I used a camera to create the newspaper advertisement and also to show evidence of the interviews and to use to take pictures of our storyboards for our opening sequence. I used the voice recorder for the voiceover for the documentary and also for the voice for the documentary. We also used the voice recorder to record answers for our questionnaire.

These pieces of equipment where also used in the construction part of our documentary mostly in the filming parts of our documentary. The tripod was used when filming all of clips for the documentary as it was needed to steady the camera and to create a good shot. The next two pieces of equipment were used during our opening sequence the middle image the jib was used to tilt the camera but not get in the way of the camera this was used effectively in our opening sequence. The image on the right is the track that we used for our opening sequence. The way we used the track was by camera on the tripod then attaching wheels to that so it was able to be pushed down the track and to create a smooth flowing movement. All three of these pieces of equipment helped us a lot in using creating our opening sequence.

I used premiere pro and Photoshop in the construction part of my work. Premiere prowas mainly used to create our documentary we our clips on the timeline and then added graphics using premiere pro. We also used premiere pro to create our radio trailer we put the clips of the sound that was used for the radio trailer and edited it from there because it was a lot easier than anything else
