After we filmed the preliminary task there were a lot of things that needed to be

improved and learned. The things I didn’t know before are:

I didn’t have a lot of experience with filming, so all the equipment was new to

me

The tracks, dollies, steady-cams and a lot more were all new to me

I didn’t know all the shot types, camera movement, editing techniques, thriller

and horror subgenres, sound effects, everything about mise en scene, codes and

conventions of a thriller or horror film and the history of thriller or horror films.

I had never used programs like Final Cut Pro before or other

programs

I didn’t know a lot of the websites which we used for presenting our

results e.g: ISSUU, Slideshare, Present.me …

I didn’t know how the set of a film production looks like and how to

organize it

I didn’t know what makes a film good and entertaining and what

makes it boring

These are the things I already knew:

I already knew a few social networks e.g: Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter…

I already knew a few websites for presentations e.g: Prezi, Power Point,

Word…

I had also already worked with apple computers in my work experience

week, which really helped me in the lessons.

I knew a few differences between thriller and horror films, but my

knowledge had huge gaps.
