HOW DID YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOUR AUDIENCE?

• To attract my decided target audience, I used a variety of different methods to entice them to the magazine. I incorporated things such as feature articles about bands and artists that people who listen to Indie music would find interesting, an example of this would be how I featured an article on All Time Low, All Time Low are a largely known band within the indie community and therefore this article would attract a lot of people to the magazine. I also used colours to attract people to the magazine, the colours I used were very dark and consistent with the appearance of natural colours in the photos at times. My colour scheme throughout was black white and red, these colours are usually associated with Indie things and therefore this would attract people within my target audience to the magazine.

• A way in which I addressed my target audience to the magazine was through the language I used, I made it very colloquial and casual in order to allow myself to make my text seem like I was having a conversation, it also allowed the text to flow and made it easier for someone to read the text. The overall style of the magazine also will attract the attention of the target audience I want as it is stylised to aesthetically please people who listen to indie/alternative and underground music. I have made the overall style suited to my target audience by using certain fonts, the main font I used was SKYFALL, I used this font as it was similar to the font that Kerrang uses constantly and because I liked the font that they used and as we are targeting the same audience I made my style similar to there’s.
