RegistrationWhen you arrive at Warhammer World, you’ll need to register your team with the events staff before taking part in the event. All we will need is your name and a visible copy of your Ticketbud ticket email, (whether it is printed out or displayed on a phone or tablet), or a physical ticket bought here at Warhammer World. We will give you a record card and a name badge; keep hold of these over the weekend. It’s also a great chance to ask us any questions you might have about the weekend; we’re happy to have a chat about anything you may need to know. Make sure you have a good Team Name ready for us!

You don’t need to hand a Team Roster to us, but make sure you have one ready to show your opponents before each game.

For this event, there is a chance to register early with us on the Friday night. If you’re in Nottingham on Friday and want to avoid the Saturday rush to register

Using the right modelsWe understand that there are currently no models available in the Blood Bowl range from Games Workshop. As such, why not convert your team from miniatures that are available?

If you are lucky enough to own some of the original Games Workshop Blood Bowl miniatures, then we look forward to seeing them at the event! But if you need to create a team from currently available models, then you need to ensure your models are totally clear as to what they represent. We ask this for the sake of clarity to your opponent and to avoid mid-game confusion.

If you need some inspiration, check the end of this pack to see some Blood Bowl teams that have been made using current miniatures.

Welcome to the Event Pack for the 2016 Full Beard Cup, hosted by Bugman’s Bar. Ahead of you lies a weekend of fantasy sports action, where you will pit your team against like-minded Blood Bowl fans in an effort to be crowned the Full Beard Champion and lift the mighty trophy.

Whether you’re new to the game or you’re a veteran of a thousand matches, The Full Beard Cup is a great excuse to spend a few days playing Blood Bowl in the unique environment of Warhammer World, while enjoying the hospitality of famous brew-master Josef Bugman.

“Good afternoon, sports fans and welcome to the bloodiest of Blood Bowl Tournaments, the Bugman’s Full Beard Cup! Ooooh, I’ve been looking forward to this one for a long time, Jim!”

“I’m not surprised, Bob; with such a huge horde of gold pieces on offer from the sponsors, the Full Beard Cup is famous for the players doing just about anything they can to win the game! We’ve seen some incredible incidents over the years – do you remember the 2489 plague?”

“Oh yeah, the Nurgle’s Rotters spread the Red Pox around the whole city to make sure no other teams could play. They won the Cup without playing a match!”

“Amazing! Well, let’s hope for something so memorable this time! Let’s get on with the games!”

GamesAt the heart of your Full Beard Cup experience are five great games of Blood Bowl. These games are 2 hours and 15 minutes long, giving you plenty of time to finish your game. For the first game, you will be drawn against a random opponent.

For Games 2-5, you will be drawn against players on a similar number of cup points to you, meaning you should be facing a good challenge every game.

When the new opponents are announced, simply go to your table, meet your next opponent and begin the pre-match sequence. After each game, you’ll need to do a few things while you’re still at the table with your opponent, as detailed in the post-match sequence in the ‘Playing in the Bugman’s Full Beard Cup’ rules in the Handbook. Make sure you update your Team Roster with new skills and any new Fan Factor, and fill out the relevant section of the event record card. Have your opponent sign his or her initials in the relevant spaces.

NOTE: As we need to get the results in promptly at the end of every round to get the next round started, we ask you finish your game as soon as the timer ends. Try to ensure both players have had the same number of turns, so if the timer is running down, please think about how much time a turn might take and whether you can get a whole turn in before the timer runs down!

ScoringThe Bugman’s Full Beard Cup uses a system of Cup points to determine who will be the winner of the event. You earn Cup Points from your games in the following way:• Win a game: 60 points• Draw a game: 30 points• Lose a game: 10 points

There are also additional bonus points on offer:• A Close Call : Lose by 1 Touchdown: +5 points• Gave ‘em a hidin’: Win by 2 Touchdowns: +5 points• Thrashed ‘em!: Win by 3 or more Touchdowns: +10 points• Clean Sheet: Concede 0 Touchdowns during the game: +10 points

When the game is over, simply note how many Cup Points you earned in your game on the correct slip on your record sheet, have your opponent sign it, tear off the slip and hand it in to us. The sooner your results are in, the sooner we can get the draws up for the next game! You’ll notice on the record slip, we also ask you to record the number of Touchdowns, Casualties and Sending Offs you achieved in that game. Note those down too – there is a prize for the coach who scores the most of each!

Going “Full Beard”When you register, we will give you a Limited Edition Special Play card, called “Go Full Beard”, which represents your Team being given a huge cask of Bugman’s Full Beard XXXX to open at a crucial point. The new version of Blood Bowl has Special Play cards which you can use to add really cinematic moments to your games, and you will get to be one of the lucky few to get this event exclusive, which you can keep and add to your new decks after the event! More details to follow.

Once during the tournament, you can use your Go Full Beard special play card. You don’t have to stand up and announce that you’re doing so in a loud voice, but this is entirely encouraged! When you use the Go Full Beard special play card, have your opponent initial the relevant box on your record card. It can only be used once over the weekend, so choose your moment carefully!

Illegal ProceduresFor the Bugman’s Full Cup event, Illegal Procedures may not be called- we want a competitive but fair game after all! The four minute turn limit will NOT be in play either, but if one of our eagle eyed staff spot a coach taking a deliberately long amount of time over his turn to wind down the clock, there may be sticky consequences for their players...! Note: If an opposing coach forgets to move their turn marker, simply politely remind them to move it on.

How to win the Bugman’s Full Beard CupAt the end of the weekend, the coach who has earned the largest number of Cup points overall will lift the Full Beard Cup and glory shall be theirs!

In the case of a draw for first, second or third place, we will use the difference in the number of Touchdowns scored compared to those conceded (Touchdown Difference) as a first sorter, followed by the Casualty Difference as a third sorter.

Favourite Game VotesAt the end of the event, we ask you to vote for the opponent who gave you the most enjoyable game over the weekend. Perhaps their team was gorgeously painted, or they taught you a new tactic? Perhaps they were just a thoroughly sporting opponent or something incredible happened in the game. For whatever the reason, please show your appreciation for that player by voting for them. To show how highly we value those who go out of their way to ensure others around them have a good time, we will awarding a prize to the player that receives the highest number of Favourite Game votes.

Legends Painting CompetitionLegends gives you the chance to show off your painting skills with single models rather than with whole teams. Simply enter a model in the relevant category at lunch time on Saturday. Once all the entries are in, we ask everyone to vote for their favourites. Whoever gains the most votes in each category will be declared the winner! (Please note - these models must be from the team you are using over the weekend).

Player of Legend: For any single player on a 25mm or 32mm base.Big Guy of Legend: For any single monstrous player on a 40mm base.Coach of Legend: For any single model representing coaching staff.

The Best Team CompetitionIn order to acknowledge the outstanding efforts that some players go to in order to produce stunning looking teams, we have the Best Team competition. The events staff will nominate teams for everyone to vote on and they will be presented for voting during Sunday lunch time.

The player whose team receives the most number of votes will win the Best Team award.

Meet The Star Players!Over the course of the weekend, you’ll have the chance to meet members of the Specialist Games Studio as they will be in attendance. See the latest models being developed and hear all about the new version of Blood Bowl from the very chaps who wrote and designed it.

SeminarIf that wasn’t enough, on Sunday afternoon, while we’re getting all the results into the computer and preparing the Award Ceremony, we will be hosting a Blood Bowl Seminar in Bugman’s Bar, run by members of the Specialist Games studio. This is your chance to hear about the future of the game, and ask those burning questions!
