Renowned for our craft, service and attention to detail in everything we do, we’ve come a long way since our very first Café Tea Rooms opened in 1919.
These days, as well as our six Café Tea Rooms across Yorkshire, we deliver treats from our award-winning Craft Bakery to homes and businesses all over the world. We also provide wonderful event venues in Harrogate and York for a wide range of occasions.

Closed to the public for over forty years, this space was once the talk of the town. Thanks to an extensive refurbishment it was returned to its former glory, including restoring the beautiful 1920s plasterwork and oak fittings. Our founder Frederick Belmont famously spared no expense to create what he called “surroundings with the quiet harmony of perfect taste.”
With stunning views of the Stray and located in the heart of Harrogate, it’s the perfect setting for celebrations and business events.
Flooded with natural daylight, the spacious and elegant Imperial Suite is extremely versatile. Its two interconnecting rooms can be used together or booked separately, allowing a variety of seating arrangements.

Offering a beautiful setting for a smaller event, our Imperial Meeting Room is ideal for private meetings or more intimate lunches, dinners for up to 32 guests or cocktail parties for up to 40 guests. It can be used singly or in combination with the Imperial Room.

BELMONT ROOM, YORK
Our founder, Frederick Belmont, commissioned the same designers who styled the Queen Mary cruise liner to work their art deco magic on the first floor of Bettys York. Every bit as spectacular today as when it opened in 1937, The Belmont Room boasts an interior with graceful curves, elegant walnut panelling and exquisite marquetry.
Located on the first floor of Bettys York, the room adds a true sense of occasion to any event, making it the perfect setting for all kinds of celebration. It is an extremely versatile space, allowing a variety of seating arrangements for business or pleasure.

BELMONT ROOM
Birthdays, anniversaries, family celebrations or any other type of event can be held in this elegant venue.
And if you’re planning a business meeting, the location in the historic heart of the city offers both prestige and convenience.
The Belmont Room can accommodate dinners for up to 56 guests and cocktail parties
for up to 75 guests. The room can also be set up as a business boardroom, comfortably seating up to 26 guests.

We’ve created a selection of menus combining flair and creativity, with an emphasis on using the freshest seasonal and locally sourced produce.
Choose from a breakfast buffet, luncheons, canapés, four-course dinners and the Afternoon Tea that we’re famous for, complemented by our unique selection of speciality teas, coffees and wines. Or ask us about creating bespoke menus tailored to your event.
When our founder Frederick Belmont, a young baker and confectioner from the Swiss Alps, opened the first Bettys in Harrogate in 1919, he brought together the best of both Switzerland and Yorkshire.
Still a family business, we’ve passed the values of our unique heritage down through the generations: Swiss craft skills, finesse and attention to detail, and Yorkshire’s proud tradition of warm hospitality and quality local ingredients.
