Between Salvation and Extermination during World War II, international conference organized in
partnership with the Swedish Embassy in Romania, SNSPA (National University for Political
and Administrative Studies) and the Embassy of Israel (Bucharest).
October 30, 2012
’’Cardboard Memories. National Heritage Preservation of the Deportation of Roma in
Transnistria’’, workshop organized in partnership with the “Romane Rodimata” Centre for
Cultural and Social Research (Bucharest).
November 9-16, 2012
The second series of the teacher training educational program ’The Holocaust. Fighting against
Racism and Xenophobia’’, organized in partnership with the USHMM in Washington and the
U.S. Embassy in Romania (Iasi). The event was attended by 32 teachers from the region. On
May 19-23, 2013 follow-up seminars were organized in Bucharest, Brasov and Bacau by the
Ministry of National Education and Yad Vashem.
November 20, 2012
’The Cultural Heritage of the Jews in Central Europe’’, international conference organized in
partnership with the Polish, Czech, Slovak and Hungarian Embassies (Bucharest).
December 9, 2012
’’I take it upon myself to declare’’, one woman theatre show followed by a workshop held in
several Bucharest high schools on sensitive topics such as discrimination, poverty and the role of
art in raising self-esteem (photo below).

’’The Holocaust, Romania, memory and responsibility’’, workshop organized in partnership with
One World Romania and the Czech Center (Bucharest). The event was attended by 25 teachers of
history, humanities, social sciences and civic education (photo below).

’’The Role of DNA in the identification of victims of the Totalitarian Regimes" Sixty years later.
DNA Week in Bucharest, workshop organized in partnership with the Institute for the
Investigation of Communist Crimes and the Memory of the Romanian Exile (IICCMER) and
National Geographic Romania, at the National Library. The event was attended by 20 high
school students specializing in biology (photo below).

’Educational Solutions to Fight against Racism and Discrimination in Romania’’, seminar
organized in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) for 20 history and social
sciences school teachers (photo below).

’’Persecution and Genocide of the Roma during World War II’’, international conference
organized in partnership with Sucar Drom at the “Bastille” Bookshop in Bucharest and attended
by 70 students from three local high schools (photo below).
June 9-15, 2013
“The Holocaust. Fighting against Racism and Xenophobia’’, second edition of the educational
seminar on "Memory of the Holocaust, anti-racism and anti-Semitism" for school teachers
organized in partnership with the New York Memorial Library in Surduc and Lugoj. The event
was attended by 32 history and social sciences teachers from the region. (The first edition was
organized in the same place on May 9-15, 2012) (photo below).
July 25 - August 8, 2013
“How was it possible? The Memory of the Holocaust in Romania", summer painting camp (5th
edition) organized in partnership with Yad Vashem. A group of 14 young artists attended the
event, which consisted of two parts: a seminar (July 25-28) where historians, researchers and
specialists helped them get familiarized with the topic and a workshop where they could create
artwork on various Holocaust related topics (photos below).
October 10, 2013
“Right-Wing Extremism in Romania and Europe. Trends, structures, counter-strategies’’,
international conference organized in partnership with the FES (Friedrich Ebert Foundation) and
SNSPA (National University for Political and Administrative Studies). The event was attended
by students from SNSPA and the University of Bucharest.
April 2014
“About the Holocaust… in a different manner”, workshop organized in partnership with the
Bucharest School Inspectorate for 5th
to the 12th
graders from several schools in Bucharest. The
event included survivor testimonies and was followed by photo projections and a debate on the
mass grave discovered in Popricani, near Iasi.
April – May 2014
“The Holocaust, the combating of racism and discrimination” teacher training session organized
at the Teacher’s House in Bacau (photos below).
