Title One: What Does it mean? / Que es Titulo I ?

• Given to schools based on the number of students eligible for free/reduced meals/ Se les da basado en el numero de estudiantes elegibles para lonche gratis o’ lonche reducido

• Funds must supplement district funds. This means, Title 1 funds must be in addition to the district funds./ Los fondos deben complementar a los fondos del distrito.

• Requires that schools provide academic interventions for all eligible students./ Se requiere que realizen la intervencion academica para todos los estudiantes elegibles.

• Require parent input and training./ Se requiere opinon y entrenamiento de padres.

• A school wide program requires a plan to improve academic achievement of ALL students in the school using Title I dollars for all students./ Se requiere del programa en todas las escuelas para mejorar la intervencion academica para todos los estudiantes en la escuela usando el Titulo 1.

Parent Involvement Policy

• Every Title I school, in collaboration with parents, must prepare a site level parent involvement policy. / Todas las escuelas que tienen Titulo I de veran prepararse al nivel del sitio.

• The Parent Involvement Policy describes how the school will involve the parents in an organized, ongoing, and timely way in the planning, review, and improvement of the Title I program at the school. / La poliza de involviemiento de padres describe como la escuelas va a involucrar a los padres y organizarlos a tiempo en planear y revisar el mejoramiento del plan Titulo I en la escuela.

Our Title I Parent Involvement Policy

• Our policy includes events, groups and opportunities for Parents to be involved at Everett. / Nuestra poliza incluye eventos, groupos y oportunidades para que los padres participen en Everett.

• It is distributed in hard-copy and reviewed yearly for adjustments. / Los padres reciben una copia y revisa los ajustes annuales.

Committees

School Site Council – makes decisions about

(1) program goals and the

(2) spending of TITLE ONE funds to increase student achievement. Safety Committee - reviews safety issues on campus and discusses options and solutions

Parent Engagement/Involvement - meets to discuss and review our Parent Involvement plan and compact

Events and Opportunites

Class Volunteer - participate in your student’s room, the library or on campus in support of our school

Family Academic Nights – grade level academic activities to experience with your student

Parent Academies – Opportunities to learn about a variety of different topics here at school

Monthly Award Assemblies – Celebrate the character trait of the month and student achievement

Second Cup of Coffee – Parent training and conversation regarding hot topics for parents

School Wide Activities – Parent Conferences, BTS Night, Open House etc.

School Site Council (SSC) -

• Comprised of teachers, administrator, parents/community members, and other staff. /Compuesto por los profesores, los administradores, los padres y los miembros de la comunidad, y otros funcionarios.

• Presently – we are in need of parents/community members. /Actualmente, estamos en necesidad de padres y de miembros de la comunidad

Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA)/ Plan Individual para el Logro de los Estudiantes

• This is the “School Plan” / Este es el Plan de la Escuela

• Using the Data Analysis, the SSC develops a yearlong plan that is organized into goals, activity steps, and budget needs/ Mediante el análisis de los datos, el SSC desarrolla un plan anual que se organiza en metas, pasos de la actividad, y las necesidades de su presupuesto

• The SSC is advised by many school stakeholder groups. / El SSC es asesorado por muchas escuelas en grupos interesados.

• It is in this plan that the school determines how best to use its Title I Funds. / Es en este plan que la escuela determina la mejor manera de utilizar sus fondos de Título I
