Erasmus + KA229 PROJECT

/ 1. 9. 2019 - 31. 8. 2021 /

"Every country hides its own story"

Partner countries communicate about who they are and what they refer to

in the form of fairy tales and stories that are full of symbols and their meanings.

Our project looks at a journey through history, travel and the opening path to the

world of stories of these countries. The imaginary gate is protected by a tree -

one of the most powerful symbols of humanity. Its diverse letters bear the

countries stories of their inhabitants who created our future. It is time to tell this

story to the world.

Project motto:

The tree is a symbol of life, a symbol of human fellowship and the ability

to do something for others. We plant it for our future generation as a green relay

that is spread from one generation to another.

Objective:

Use the knowledge of cultural heritage, lead the pupils to tolerance

and respect the differences between individuals, understand the necessity of

coexistence in today's multicultural society. Try to cross the barrier in foreign

language communication.

The Meeting in Slovakia, 21. - 25. October 2019

“Together”... these are the opening words of a song, which were resounded

during the opening ceremony of the international project Erasmus+ in the

Elementary School at Podzámska street in Hlohovec.

Our project began to write its first chapter in the week from 21. - 25.

October 2019. It was not only in the English language which was spoken. We

welcomed partners from Spain, Crete, Bulgaria, Sicily and Hungary. The sixth

elementary school became, in fact, the coordinator of the international project

Erasmus+ with the motto: "Every country hides its own story."

Teachers and students from Podzámska prepared a five-day program for

the 17 teachers and 25 pupils from the partner countries, followed the footsteps

and history of the places of interest in Hlohovec, Slovakia.

Tuesday, 22. 10. 2019 the participants of the project Erasmus attended the

capital city of Slovakia - Bratislava. They visited the gothic cathedral, the St.

Martin´s Cathedral, passed the panoramic route near the banks of the river

Page 16: Every country hides its own story

Danube, the so-called castle district, city tour "Prešporáčik“ to the sights of

Bratislava, they used the lift bridge of the Slovak National Uprising to the view of

the UFO, from which they could see the entire metropolis of Slovakia. In

Chorvátsky Grob they tasted the local delicacy in the form of geese feast.

Page 17: Every country hides its own story

We must say that it was a really hilarious day. Some of our new friends

have confessed that they ate goose meat for the first time in their life and it tasted

very good.

Page 18: Every country hides its own story

The most important part of the meeting was a tour around the school on

Wednesday, 23. 10. The partners installed their „School Trees“ on the prepared

boards with a description of its country. Planting the lindens - Trees of Tolerance,

attending workshops in individual classes were another interesting activities

prepared for our guests. After that we all visited the cinema “Smile”, in which the

cultural program officially took place.

Our guests were welcomed by the vice city major Mr. Peter Dvoran in the

square of the Castle Hlohovec and he gave our guests some souvenirs.

Page 19: Every country hides its own story

We had a view at Hlohovec from the City Tower. The day was concluded

by the folk programme in the restaurant Jašter, where we introduced folk

company Inovček with Slovak traditional music followed by singing and dancing.

The end of the day was the kids disco and the happy faces were visible on all the

children.

Page 20: Every country hides its own story

The fourth day, 24. 10. we took our partners to the town of Bojnice, which

is known not only for the zoo garden and spa, but also belongs to famous old

mining towns in Slovakia.

Page 21: Every country hides its own story

We had a tour to the mine by the

mining train, tour around the castle of

Bojnice, we also visited a panoramatic

tower - Čajka „in the clouds“ which offers

a view on the Slovak country

Page 22: Every country hides its own story

For all pupils, teachers, but also parents was the visit from abroad a great

benefit and also experience. They had the opportunity to test their

communication skills in English, to get to know the school system in other

countries and find new friends. Especially those, who offered their partners

accommodation in their houses.

Saying goodbye was not avoided

without tears. Now, we all are looking

forward to the next meeting. The nearest will

take place in March in Spain.

Big thank belongs also to our parents who

took care of the children for the whole week

from the partner countries.

This week had positive remarks from our

parents and pupils, who welcomed the entire

project with enthusiasm. English was spread

in the air not only during English lessons.

Our pupils are happy that the school allowed

such an experience.

Page 23: Every country hides its own story

Last but not the least we have to thank the colleagues who in any way

contributed to the successful implementation of the project and we believe it will

continue effectively.

Page 24: Every country hides its own story
