Watercolor: intensive (beginner)Interested in the ebb and flow

of watercolor and would like to try a new hobby? Or been away from art for a long time and want to be reintroduced? This is a beginner class for the enthusiast who would like to discover and explore watercolor medium. Instructor Liz McConkey teaches watercolor and sewing courses at the UW-Madison Wheelhouse and Madison Area Technical College. As an all-around watercolor enthusiast, she will venture to convey many facets of a successful painting to you in a five session course to help guide you along. Students will explore, yet have directives and exercises to perform every class in pursuit of these goals. Participants will need to bring supplies for class, including: pan of watercolor cakes (High Quality) or set of watercolor tubes-primary colors plus Paynes Gray (dark gray), Indigo blue, and Burnt Umber (brown). Nylon or sable brushes, watercolor pad of paper 140 lb, plastic mixing tray (palette) and a container for water, rag/towel/paper towel.Instructor: Liz McConkey

Take a step back in time at this property, with an 1800’s hand-hewn two story log farm house, which was built by the Magnuson family when they emigrated from “Smoland Prairie,” a province in Sweden. There is nothing like the smell and taste of fresh baked bread. Start with a few simple ingredients and perfect the art of bread baking. backyard Flower arranging - from the garden or the woods

Discover how to use flowers from your own garden, or foraged from the woods and meadows, to create an arrangement that’s perfect for bringing some color and fragrance to your home. You will bring home a summer flower arrangement made with local and season flowers, as well as cut flowers. Enhancements such as butterflies will be available for purchase. Please bring a few different sized vases, pitchers, or even a coffee mug for a small arrangement. Wild Food ramble - Foraging SeriesDiscover a delightful variety of foods and folk medicine that can be gathered from the wild, and in your own backyard. We’ll talk about safe harvesting practices, and each session will include hands on cooking or folk medicine preparation. This class will meet rain or shine (unless there are considerable winds and/or lightning.) mosaic Garden Gazing ball, Stepping Stone Decorate your garden with colorful glass mosaics. Both projects are fun and really easy to do. The first night all the glass will be ready for you to adhere to your bowling ball or stepping stone. You may bring your own design ideas, or use patterns that are provided. You will have homework before the next class if you do not finish. The second night, dress for a mess, as we will be grouting! The design on the gazing ball is colorful glass and the background is sparkling mirrors. The material fee is $20 for the gazing ball, or $18 for the stepping stone, payable to the instructor at the first class. Please bring your own bowling ball. There will be a variety of stepping stone shapes to choose from. Come and have a relaxing, fun night creating art for your yard. Bring gloves for working with glass. intermediate yogaThis series will be predominantly in a Core Strength Vinyasa style, which will provide cardio, strength building, and burn some calories. You’ll learn some helpful movement tips, stress relieving techniques, gain valuable body awareness that can translate into healthy lifestyle and food choices, and learn one of the best kept secrets to feeling great about yourself and your body no matter where you are in your wellness journey. youth Swim LessonsSwimming Lessons are available for children 5 years & up. Students progress at their own pace, mastering the skills in one level before advancing to the next. dnr Hunter SafetyAnyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1973 must have completed a hunter education course and show the certificate to purchase any hunting license in Wisconsin. The class materials are at a 6th grade comprehension level. Youth ages 10-11 do not need to complete this course to take part in the Mentored Hunting program. The hunter education course instills in students the knowledge and skills to be a responsible and safe hunter. Participants learn how hunting accidents are caused and how they can be prevented. Hunter responsibility and safety are stressed throughout the classes, which consist of lectures, demonstrations, group discussions, practical exercises, and individual study and activity assignments.Parents and adults, as well as youth, are encouraged to enroll and participate.Pre-registration is required - class size is limited.DNR Customer ID# is required.Instructors Patricia & Jim Knorn
