YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT STEM CELLS Your Guide To A Stronger and Healthier Life

Stem Cells are the future of Regenerative Medicine.

Here is what you need to know.

What Are Stem Cells?

A stem cell is an undifferentiated cell of a multicellular organism that is capable of giving rise to indefinitely more cells of the same type and from which certain other kinds of cells arise by differentiation. Stem cells are essentially our bodies natural internal repair system. They have the ability to repair injured tissue and replace lost cells on a daily basis. Stem cells maintain the capability of differentiating into various cell lines such as tendon, cartilage, muscle, skin, bone and more.

What Do Stem Cells Do?

Stem cells basically do 3 things. One, they are anti-inflammatory. The seek out inflammation in the body and work to reduce it.

Second; the are immunomodulatory. They help modulate the body’s immune responses and work to balance it.

Thirdly; they are regenerative. They can build, repair and grow new tissue.

This is important because most of body’s problems are due to inflammation, degeneration and immune system problems.

Where Do Stem Cells Come From?

There are 5 types of cells based on where they come from. One is Fetal. These are illegal to use in the U.S. and have a lot of controversy surrounding them.

Two is Amniotic. These are extracted from the amniotic sac. They have large amounts of cellular debris and have the potential for allergic response. They also have inconsistent concentrations and cells counts cannot be verified.

Thirdly is placental. The cells are not potent or strong enough to make a difference. The procedure is expensive and depends on health and age.

The fourth type is Autologous. These require surgery and are not potent or strong enough to make a difference. They are generally derived from a persons on fat or bone marrow.

The fifth type is they kind we use which are Umbilical Cord Stem Cells. These are cells that are derived from donated human umbilical cords. The mothers generally donate them at birth. They are undifferentiated cells – no HLA matching. It’s a simple, fast and safe delivery either through intra-articular injections or by IV infusion. The treatment is customizable to each patient depending on their need. They are extremely potent, robust and consistent.

Stem cell therapy is the administration of umbilical cord stem cells (UCSC) into a patient’s body based on the recommendation from your medical provider or nurse practitioner. The cells can be administered through injection or IV infusion to maximize the therapy’s reach.

What is Stem Cell Therapy?

What Are Some Of The Advantages Of Stem Cell Therapy?

Stem cells are immune system privileged so anyone can be treated. They also support anti-inflammatory activity, help to balance the immune system and contain the optimum ability to stimulate regeneration in the body. They can be administered multiple times in uniform dosages that contain high cell counts and are administered either by intra-articular injection or by I.V. infusion.

Stem Cell Therapy doesn’t require surgery and can be completed in most cases in just a few minutes.

Stem Cells Are Important As We age

As we age, our bodies lose stem cells. Since stem cells are important in our body’s ability to heal, the loss of stem cells over time reduces that ability and it takes our bodies longer to recover. This chart below explains:

Are Stem Cells Illegal?

There is a lot of information on the internet about stem cells and most people have a hard time trying to decide which information is best and accurate. One of the most common questions is aren’t they illegal?

Currently, the only type of stem cell that is illegal to use are those derived from a fetus or what is commonly called fetal stem cells. These are illegal and highly controversial.

Human Umbilical Cord Stem Cells are not illegal and are being ethically used in clinics around the nation.

Insurance does not currently cover regenerative medicine procedures for the most part. It is generally a fee for service procedure.

In many instances, clinics do offer special financing for stem cell therapy. You can ask the doctor or his staff for information on financing.
