Evil Eye Crochet Gloves

Materials List

Hooks: I/9 - 5.5mm E/4 - 3.5 mm

Recommended Yarn: Color A- Grey worsted weight. Color B- Black fingering weight. Color C- Blue fingering weight. Color D- White fingering weight.

Approx Yardage: A-40 B,C,D- 5

Notions: Yarn needle

Gauge: 4” = 14 sts x 16 rows

Chain (ch)

Single Crochet (sc)

Half Double Crochet (hdc)

Double Crochet (dc)

Front Post Double Crochet (fpdc)

Back Post Double Crochet (bpdc)

Triple Crochet (tc)

Abbreviations used:

Stitch(es) (st / sts)

Notes:

The eyes can be worked in either fingering or worsted weight yarn.

The fingering weight eye version is pictured on the cover page, worsted is on last page.

If working eye in worsted yarn, substitute fingering for wortsted in recommended yarn colors. Yardage remains the same.

Pattern Instructions

Glove

In color A, ch 22, slip stitch into first ch to form round.

Rounds 1-8: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc 1 in every st, slip stitch into ch 1 to join. - 22 sc

Round 9: Ch 1, sc in same st, 7 sc, ch 8, skip six sts, sc 8, slip stitch into ch 1 to join.- 8 ch, 16 sc

Round 10: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc 7, 8 sc in ch 8 space from previous round, 8 sc, slip stitch into ch 1 to join. - 24 sc

Rounds 11-20: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc 1 in every st, slip stitch into ch 1 to join. - 24 sc

Round 21: Ch 3, dc 1 in same st, dc 1 in every st, slip stitch to third ch from beginning to join.

Rounds 22-25: ch 3, *[2 fpdc, 2 bpdc], repeat from * until end of row, slip stitch to third ch from beginning to join.

Bind off and weave in ends.

Eye (Fingering)

In color B, form magic ring.

Round 1: Ch 1, 6 sc into ring.

Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st. - 12 sc

Round 3: In color C, ch 1, * [sc 1, 2 sc in next st] repeat from* until end of round. - 18 sc

Round 4: Ch 1, * [sc 2, 2 sc in next st] repeat from* until end of round. - 24 sc

Round 5: Ch 1, * [sc 3, 2 sc in next st] repeat from* until end of round. - 30 sc

Round 6: In color D , ch 1, *[sc 6, hdc 2, dc 2, tr 2 in same st, dc 2, hdc 2], repeat from * once, slip stitch to ch 1 to join. - 12 sc, 8 hdc, 8 dc, 4 tc

Round 7: In color B, 1 sc in every st until between both pairs of tcs from last row, sc 3 in same st, then continue working 1 sc.

Bind off, leaving a yard long tail.

Eye (Worsted)

In color B, form magic ring.

Round 1: Ch 1, 6 sc into ring.

Round 2: In color C, ch 1, 2 sc in each st. - 12 sc

Round 3: Ch 1, * [sc 1, 2 sc in next st] repeat from* until end of round. - 18 sc

Round 4: In color D, ch 1,*[ 4 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 2 tc in same st, 1 dc, 1 hdc], repeat from * once, slip stitch into ch 1 to join.

Round 5: In color B, ch 1, 1 sc in every st until between both pairs of tcs from last row, sc 3 in same st, then continue working 1 sc.

Bind off, leaving a yard long tail.

Finishing

Using a yarn needle, take the long tail from eye and use it to sew eye onto glove. Be sure to sew the second eye/glove opposite of the first.
