Evolution of Desktop to Laptops to Tablets

The evolution of man is directly related to the evolution of technology. By technology we mean that

bare essential of gadgets and gizmos, and that is a computer. That which started as a heavy

machine, is now carried on the palm of our hands, and made to slide with the touch of our fingers.

Evolution has surely taken us far; it travelled through desktops, laptops and now tablets.

The need of the hour is something that is mobile, something that is on the go, that which is portable.

The first computer that could be referred to as a portable was made by IBM. The IBM 5100,

however, was barely a laptop. The 5100 did have a screen and a keyboard, with number pad, built-

in, but that’s where any comparisons with a modern laptop cease. But according to modern standard

of portable computer it is all about on the go, that which may even fit inside your trouser pocket. In

fact reports suggest that tablet sales will take over the sale of desktops and laptops by the year

2015. Let us take a look at evolution.

Desktops began as something convenient, something that could be used to calculate and to store

date and to make business easier that it was back then. But then came the internet and we know

how it shook us from our roots. Today, mankind can hardly make a move without the blessing of a

Google search. Then came the need to use computers in personal life, and slowly and steadily we

were supplied with desktops in order to meet the growing demand.

Then came the necessity to have our computers mobile and this came laptops. But then again

laptops were to be carried in a bag and it was heavy, but not as much as desktops. Then as we began

to make use of computers in our daily lives, we had the need to use laptops. We wanted to carry our

computers to work, to school, to meetings and therefore the need of laptop grew sp very much.

Finally all this made way to the tablet which we use today. Small, sleek and portable tablets are very

useful when it comes to carrying it. Now you can work on your project just as easily as you talk on

the phone with your mobile phone.

Here are some reasons why we needed a laptop and now why we need a tablet.

No more heavy laptops to carry, as tablet computers are 9 to 10 inches. It is a great

advantage to have best tablet computers as these do not strain your eyes too.

Laptops burn your laps, and desktops are just too tiresome. Therefore a tablet is something

that is easy to use and does not have to be placed on the lap.

You are done with the need for a keyboard and a mouse; they seem all very annoying now.

The one thing which most of us would hate with our laptop and desktop would be the

annoying fan sound, no more of that!

Having said this, we would also like to say that the future of computers is unpredictable. Who knows

what happens next!
