The challenge was to completely re launch
Successfactors.com
• Built on TYPO3 and abandoned
• Undocumented PHP code
• Search inoperable
• Many broken links
• Forms not secure
• Videos with JW Player
• Global Sites also broken
THE CHALLENGE – FEBRUARY 2012

I agreed to come fix the SuccessFactors.com site with
two conditions:
1. I could hire 3 people of my choosing
2. I could select any WCMS platform
They agreed, I signed up, soon I was on board
recruiting my team and selecting my WCMS
THE DEAL

I quickly recruited three stellar resources that I had
worked with for many years at Sun Microsystems.
• Senior Web Developer
• Creative Director
• Editor in Chief
I reviewed my options and selected Adobe
Experience Manager for our WCMS.
(CQ5 at the time… )
THE PROCESS

• After reviewing several integrators I chose - >
• Project lead Paul Legan spent a week on
location training us and preparation for audit
/ design / and execution
• Our team specified templates, design
components, dynamic functionality and
created all wireframes.
• Agile Methodology with 3 Sprints / QA / and
deployment
• Start June 2012 with December 2012 go live
MIGRATION

• Our initial plan was to host at Rackspace
• Our CIO insisted on hosting the site
• No added value / weeks delay to set-up
• Finally we go live out of SSF Datacenter
• Adobe Platinum and 3 Share ROM support

• Web Tracker allows us to manage a large volume of web requests with transparency and audit trail.
• Separate Queues for:-SuccessFactors -SAP Cloud-Design-Video
• Cloud hosted for maximum availability.

content for SuccessFactors and SAP
Cloud.
• All HO1 and HO5 promos are reviewed
for performance.
• Calendar of future components
managed and task status reviewed.
• Strategic issues are discussed ranging
from User Experience, Naming,
Navigation, Information Architecture,
and Visual Design
