Ingredients:

One Large Spaghetti Squash -Halve one spaghetti squash, and roast for 30 minutes at 350. -After baking, use a fork to scrape inside of squash. This will cause strand-like pasta to form. Place strands in a serving dish

Sauce four tomatoes one bulb garlic two red peppers one whole carrot one bay leaf and fresh basil one white or yellow onion cup Extra virgin olive oil Red wine (Merlot or Cabernet) Salt

Mix: -Pour olive oil into a pan on medium low heat. -Slice carrots extremely thin. Slice and half onion. Slice four cloves of the garlic. -Place all above ingredients in oil and sweat, cooking until onions turn soft and translucent. -Roast red peppers. Chop up and add to pan mixture. -Cut core end off tomatoes. Using your hand, squeeze tomatoes into pan, until fairly chunky. -Pour in one cup of wine. Bring mixture to a boil, cover and reduce. Simmer for twenty minutes.

Pour over squash and enjoy.

Serves four.

Dee Dee Bonner is known to some as the mother of Star Quarterbackof the Alabama Crimson Tide, AJ McCarron, but there is more to thisamazing women. Not only is she an active mother to AJ and his threebrothers she has a career as Manager of Legislative Affairs for Austal Shipbuilding.

As if she didn't have her hands full enough, Dee Dee also has a passion for helping children who are ill or injured. This is something that is very close to her heart after AJ was involved in a very serious jet-ski accident when he was five. Being faced with the horrific idea that he may not survive or would be serioulsy disabled was a moms worst nightmare. His miraculous recovery led him and Dee Dee on a mission to help others in need.

Starla is one of the children that you may be familiar with as Dee Dee is the President of the Board of Directors for a Foundation that tries toassist families with kids that are ill. Dee Dee said, Starlas Mom, Dad and a group of us started the foundation in her name. TheFoundation helps with bills or whatever might come up while kids are in the hospital. AJ would like to start of a foundation as well oncehe is able to. Once he goes into the NFL he wants to start AJs Champions to help children that are ill or injured. Helping childrenplays a large part in his future plans.

When she is not working, taking care of the family or helping others in need you can find Dee Dee shopping for shoes! When asked who herfavorite designers were she had this to say. Helmut Lang, Jimmy Choo,I love shoes. I love good buys. I have like 14 black dresses and then my shoes. I may have a hundred pair of shoes. When asked about fashion and comfortable clothes she mentioned that she can be comfortable in anything. I can be comfy in a dress, blue jeans, Mickey Mouse pajama pants. People laugh because I wear high heel shoes all the time because Im short. Im 54 on a good day.

Dee Dee continues to inspire other working moms as she has shown that no matter how busy you are, or how large your family is, you can still balance it with a career and find time to help others in need. When the day is done find some time to go shoe shopping!!!

Not Just A Problem Faced By Teens

Bullying comes in many forms, and most adults have had experiences of childhood bullying as being either physical, verbal or covert. Physical bul-lying can vary from the stereotypical kid who stole your lunch money to being tripped, pinched or hit by someone larger than you. Verbal bullying can in-clude: name calling, insults, teasing, intimidation, homophobic, sexist or racist remarks. Covert bully-ing is often done behind a persons back in order to harm their personal reputation or cause humiliation by spreading lies and rumors.1 A more recent form of harassment that some adults engage in is called Cyberbullying.

Cyberbullying can be overt, covert, private, and public and has emerged with the explosion of digital technology sharing via personal laptops, Ipads and smartphones. The majority of attacks are tar-geted toward females online by other women. Adult cyber-bullying tends to start in chatrooms and social network sites such as Facebook or Twitter. Attacks vary widely from condemning parenting skills, judging romances, to criticizing personal ap-pearance. The comments can be extremely vicious and demeaning. Women who stoop to this type of bullying are personally insecure and feel protected by cyber anonymity, often writing things that they would never say to a persons face.

Andrea Weckerle, founder of CiviliNation and author of Civility in the Digital Age, states that few people understood the extent cyber bullying affects adults. "It's incredulous how many people still believe that cyber bullying is something that only impacts

children and teens. The sad fact is that online reputa-tion attacks, threats and intimidation against adults take place on a daily basis in all corners of the world. In many cases the victims suffer in silence, not knowing what to do to stop the onslaught or without the financial and legal means to pursue their attack-ers. Online attacks have become an epidemic and I fear it's just a matter of time before an adult takes their own life."2

Tips to Combat Cyber Bullying:

-Do not reply to trolls. Delete and ignore them. Bullies are just looking for a reaction.

-Block the bully's social media profile or account.

-Report the user to site administration.

-Remember that once your views, thoughts,

pictures are posted they are in cyberspace

forever, even if you hide & delete the posts.

-Check your privacy settings! Do not list home or work addresses, phone numbers or email.

-Only accept friend requests from known family and friends.

-Take screen shots and keep offensive messages as evidence.

-If abuse and harassment continues, report it to police.

The Faces of Diabetes... Four People with Four Amazing StoriesIn the Gym 5 days a week, benching 300 pounds,eating right and in the best shape of my life at nearly 40 but wait...You have Diabetes! Diabetes doesn'trun in my family. How is this possible?

This was the diagnosis I received after I had beenloosing my vision (which I thought was age) and losing weight (which I associated with my intense workouts). After a trip to Disney World and just not feeling myself I decided to get my blood sugartested and it was a whopping 740! I was told the bad news is you have Diabetes but the good news is you didn't have a stroke or worse.Hearing a Physician say You are a Lucky Man is scary.

I feel lucky to be alive and now know thatDiabetes does not discriminate. I am still able to do everything that I have always done and Idon't let Diabetes run my life...it is just another part of it. Listen to your body and take care of it. Don't assume "It can't happen to me." If it does and life throws you a curve - Take the Ride and Smile and know it all happens for a reason. If God brings you to it he will bring you through it.

My name is Desha' Ringe; I am 25 years old and have had Type 1 (Juvenile) Diabetes for nearly 15 years. I was first diagnosed in 1998, when I was 10 years old. Through the years, I've struggled with the disease, as my multiple daily insulin shots were not keeping my blood sugar levels low enough. I've been hospitalized with Diabetic Ketoacidosis twice, have developed glaucoma, and even lost a child because I was not healthy enough. After 14 years of battling highs and lows, I finally decided to give an insulin pump a try. I now use the OmniPod insulin pump--the only pump on the market without tubing and uses Bluetooth technology between the monitor and pod. It has changed my life and made living with diabetes much easier for me. My amazing family has supported me throughout the years and made sure I never stopped trying to get myself healthier. I can't thank them enough for everything they've done, as they pushed me to get the pump and are the reason I finally got one. I now have an a1c of 7.0 (the lowest it's ever been) and am able to live a better, healthier, and more fulfilling life because of it!

We dont know how strong we are until being strong is the only choice...

Something was wrong. I didn't know what. Went to my doctor a tage 41 and had the blood work done, and then she called me back into her office."Ray, I'm going to tell yousomething that is going to change many thingsfor you. You are a diabetic."

Had no clue what that meant. I do now. It means that I don't have the same freedoms as the rest of the world. I can't eat what I want.I can't get life insurance and/or health insuranceas readily. I have to be compliant. HAVE TO BE!Hard is not the word to describe having to deal with this disease.

I was mad; may still be mad...ish. Now 45, I feelit, and I deal with it. I run/walk/shuffle and kinda try to be compliant. It happens to the best of us.It happened to me.

Be vigilant with your healthy diet and exercise, and prosper and grow old the best way.You were given this life and your vessel; be goodto them!

RayComing from a family of medical professionals, the last thing you want to do is develop type two diabetes! My grandfather and Mother both developed type 2 diabetes. I have always been active! From playing every sport available, year round in high school, to college volleyball, to working out and coaching for a career. However, as life gets busy and we try to cram everything in we tend to take less care of ourselves. Istarted to notice weight gain, frequent headaches andalmost constant nausea. I also started to experience crankiness when I didnt eat every few hours. I would become shaky and not be able to do much. I went to the doctor and they told me I was in the danger zone ofbecoming a type two diabetic. They prescribed me metformin and I began to monitor my blood sugar. I didnt want to be labeled for the rest of my life. So I began to make lifestyle changes. I got back to exercising regularly,.I cut most simple carbohydrates from my diet and almost all alcohol. My doctor was amazed when I returned for my annual checkup.. my AIC was in perfect range. I stopped taking my metformin and have not taken it for 10 years. I dont plan on itever again, as long as I can control my fate. This will be a constant battleas my weight changes often since my thyroid was removedin 2008. The busy lifestyle we Americans have adopted makes it difficult to stay on top of our health but we have to make it a top priority. Laura

...A Thousand Miles for InspirationLike most of us, Im a huge lover of all social media; so when I was hooked up with my OmniPod insulin pump for the first time in March, I had it on my stomach and decided to post a picture of it on Instagram. That same day, I received a comment from a girl, Emily Dobson, whom Id never spoken to before, asking questions about the pump. Emily, 19, was diagnosed with Juvenile (Type 1) Diabetes in 2010 and was taking several insulin shots a day. As a senior graduating from high school in Ontario, Canada, she knew having to worry about taking her shots would be a hindrance in her busy life, once she started college in the fall. I told her how amazing the OmniPod was and that I had been diabetic for nearly fifteen years and was always afraid of trying an insulin pump because I didnt want to be hooked up to something constantly. Coping with Diabetes in Non-Traditional WaysDiagnosed with diabetes at only three years old,Jacob received his insulin pump at five after traditional methods of multiple daily shots proved unable to control his blood sugar. He told his parents he was sad because he felt different fromother children because of his pump. So Camille Boivin and Philippe Aumond decided to get tattoosthat match their son's pump to lift his spirits in support for his daily fight. "We had those tattoos done to inspire our own son, but it seems like ourson was not the only one touched by what we've done." says Camille. Jacob, now seven, continueswith his insulin pump and is doing wonderfully.

Daisy, a nine month old white golden retriever, is being trained for pet therapy at The Diabetes Center in Ocean Springs, MS. KC Arnold, NP, brings Daisy to her clinicevery day for her training; and she currently helps young children by aiding them in their transitions from multiple daily insulin shots to insulin pumps. KC shared a story of a three year old girl who was learning to use her new pump and turned to Daisy for comfort, "When we went to start the device on the little girl, she became scared. I asked her if she wanted Daisy to come help. She said yes. Daisy came and gave her paw to the little girl to hold onto while we started the pump." Daisy is well on her way to being certified for pet therapy, and we all can't wait to see the differences she continues to make in children living with diabetes' lives.

The Hunt Collective was started by Lana, the designer,her mother Sherlyn , a seamstress and her sister Danielle, an architect. They presented onlookers a collection of hand dyed silks, velvet camisoles, stiff collared mid drifts, two piece sets and flowing dresses. These ladies chose color schemes of lavender, tan, off white for the majority of the pieces.

The Christopher Rogers Collection is eclectic with a wayward style. This nineteen year old designer wowed the audience. His Spring/Summer 2014 collection featured a varity ofblended colors, undefined patchwork, metallics and lace.
