Airport Pick-up Program

The Airport Pick-up Program will run from Friday

September 3 to Sunday September 5, 2010 (inclusive)

from 12:00pm to 10:30pm. This program provides initial

transportation to international, exchange, and out of

province Carleton students arriving to Ottawa through the

Ottawa International Airport, free of charge. As part of the

Airport Pick-up Program, students will have access to a

Welcome Booth run by the International Student Services

Office, and staffed by upper year Carleton students.

Arriving students will check in at this booth prior to using

the service– this will be a great opportunity to ask

questions or to address any concerns!

To register for the Airport Pick-up Program visit

www.carleton.ca/isso/new-students/airport-pick-up-

program/ Note that if you are arriving outside of the dates

or times offered, you will be responsible for your own

transportation arrangements. Visit www.carleton.ca/isso/

new-students/before-you-arrive/#transportation

Accommodations It is important that students secure their accommodation,

even if it is a temporary arrangement, prior to their arrival

in Ottawa. Students that have secured a room on the

Carleton campus should contact the Department of

Housing at [email protected] to confirm all

details regarding checking into their room.

Students waiting to find accommodations off campus

should plan ahead of time and book a temporary place to

stay until they are able to secure a more permanent

arrangement in the city. Suitable places for short term

accommodation include hostels, bed & breakfasts,

extended stay hotels etc.

Students planning to stay at a hostel or hotel upon

arriving, must make reservations prior to travelling. The

first weekend in September is a holiday weekend in

Canada and hotels fill very quickly.

Note that the majority of hotels will require that a credit

card number be provided upon making a reservation,

and they will often also require that the person checking

in has a credit card. If you don't have a credit card make

sure to discuss an alternative arrangement upon making

a reservation.

For more information about securing a place to live visit

www.carleton.ca/isso/new-students/accommodations/

double it is $50.99 - both are a great deal!
