EMERGENCY MANAGEMENTYarriambiack Shire Council along with all the emergency service agencies including Victoria Police, CFA and VicSES are responsible for developing and implementing strategies to assist communities both during and after natural and man made emergency events.
The Emergency Management Act 1986 and the Local Government Act 1989 outline the important role Council’s play in Victoria’s emergency management arrangements in particular Council’s connection to the community.
Council’s website provides direction on the role Council plays in emergency management and the strategies that can be used during and after an emergency event.
Key links and information are also provided to assist the community in preparing for and dealing with an emergency. Specific information related to an actual emergency will be added to the “During Emergency” and “After Emergency” sections when an incident occurs.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
The Yarriambiack Shire Council is well known for festivals, field days and many small boutique events. All events must be registered with Yarriambiack Shire Council and can be done by completing an Event Application/Notification Form. Once it is completed and submitted to the Yarriambiack Shire Council the Event Application/Notification form will register your interest in staging an event and help determine which services and permits may be required. Submitting the Event Application/Notification form does not constitute approval to proceed with your event. You will be advised as to what permits you require for your event and whether or not you need to complete and submit additional paperwork.
The Community and Economic Development Officer will assist with an assessment of your event. Event organisers will then be advised of any further process or requirements that may be needed given the specific circumstances and environment applicable to the individual event.

YARRIAMBIACK TOURISMYarriambiack Tourism includes representatives from most communities in the Shire and provides an opportunity for residents and business owners to discuss relevant tourism topics in the region. Yarriambiack Tourism also develops important promotional and marketing material for local townships and tourism locations.
