Executive Regulator Roundtable The Executive Regulator Roundtable Series is an opportunity for gaming regulators and policy makers to gather in an exclusive and private environment for the purpose of studying and discussing issues important to the future of gaming. Participation is restricted to leaders of Agenda 9:30 A.M. Registration 10:00 Introduction of panelists 10:15 – 11:15 Session 1 Panel Discussion: Does Gaming Regulation Stifle Innovation? Regulation is central to modern gaming and therefore should be reviewed and updated regularly to ensure that it evolves as advancing technology transforms the industry. New gaming products, changes in the marketplace and new advanced tools available to regulators requires ongoing review at policy, legislative and regulatory levels to ensure a vibrant and healthy industry. Is this true of gaming regulation today or has regulation become a major obstacle to an innovative and globally completive industry? This panel, consisting of regulators, independent testing houses and gaming technology developers will discuss the role of regulation in either encouraging or deterring the gaming industry from being a globally competitive and innovative industry. The panel will discuss both the current status within the industry, as well as successes and failures with a view to identify best practices. Lunch 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Session 2 Panel Discussion: Cybersecurity Within the Gaming Industry Casinos are a vulnerable business for infiltration by cybercriminals considering that sensitive information is gathered from players for rewards programs, wagering accounts, or currency reporting requirements; that proprietary operational techniques and protected player databases are essential to the business; and credit card and cash alternative transactions are becoming the norm. This raises the question, what can gaming regulators do to ensure that casinos are fulfilling their obligations to protect patrons and the industry from reputational harm? This panel will discuss what cybersecurity risks exist within the gaming industry and how gaming regulators can ensure the regulated are taking preventative measures to manage and mitigate potentially devastating consequences.
