“No Hate, Just Skate”Youth Exchange

4th - 14th of August 2014, Barbarolo, Italy

What is it about?The project “N8, just Sk8” is a youth exchange within the Erasmus+ programme, Key Action 1. It will berunning at the beginning of August for 11 days (travel days included) in Barbarolo close to Bologna,Italy.It will involve young people in sport activities, in particular with the tools: roller skate, skateboard, pushscooter; for skating and parkour.Skaters say that this sport is a life style, a philosophy. It is a very attractive sport for young people and itcan be combined with many other sports or activities (music, art, street-sports/art…).The project wants to reflect the skating culture, lifestyle and obstacles and joy connected with thesesports. Skating is a challenging physical and mental activity where the barriers to improvement arealmost entirely internal. Skating empowers youth through constant, self-adopted challenges which canbe overcome through practice, dedication, and commitment. At the same time, this activity helps youngpeople to fight against marginalisation, racism, xenophobia and promotes tolerance, mutualunderstanding and brotherhood among the group of people dedicated to this life-style.These traits, learned through skating, last a lifetime and are relevant to many environments and lifesituations.Normally skating is an underground sport and, in many countries, people are not allowed to skate onstreets. Skating youths participate in this activity with or without dedicated skate spaces. As a result, inmany communities without skate parks or with inadequate skate parks, skating youths recreate in thestreets and other inappropriate areas. That can be a risk for the skaters but also for the others who canbe injured.

In areas where skate parks and skateboarding areas areplentiful and designed properly, skaters recreate in anappropriate space and are significantly less exposed tothe risk.Skateboarding activity and culture struggles to berecognized by public agencies and the broadercommunity, and thus the skaters may becomemarginalized members of the community. That’s whythis project can have a big impact not only forparticipants directly involved but also at local level in theparticipants’ communities.

















During these intensive 11 days participants will have a chance to skate and rollerblade, improve theirstyle, learn from the others or teach the others, learn about different skating cultures in othercountries, the importance of sport, meet some skate experts and local organizations! And this all in alovely atmoshpere of small italian village Barbarolo!

What is waiting for you there?Sport activity, preparation andrealization of sport exercisesconnected with skating androllerblading, group sessions anddiscussions about skating cultureand lifestyle, visits of localorganizations, presentations,cultural visits.

Who can participate?All young people up till 30 years old that love to do skating in all its forms and that want tospend 10 days with similarly crazy people from Italy, France, Germany, Poland, and Romania.

How much will it cost you?Food, accommodation and activities costs are 100 % covered by the project;the travel cost will be reimbursed up to 170 € for the international groups and up to 20 € for theItalian group after receiving all the travel documents by postal service (after the youthexchange). Collect all the tickets to receive the refund!

Who is it organizing?Net in Action is a non-profit social organization(NGO) based in Bologna (Italy).NIA carries out its activity especially towards disadvantaged young people. People who do notenjoy the same opportunities as their peers due to economic, social, physical, educational,cultural and geographical obstacles.

In particular the organization focuses on young Italians, foreigners and immigrants (first andsecond generation), who are at risk of going in situations and experiences of marginalization,delinquency, social exclusion.NIA works at local, regional, national and International level. Its activities concernsvolunteering and social inclusion, targeted at disadvantaged young people; information,guidance and counseling; cultural and social activities; sports and recreational activitiesaddressed to disadvantaged young people, for inclusion and social cohesion in collaborationwith stakeholders and government assets in the territory; planning, management andrealization of International experiences; planning, implementation and management of training

Practical InformationPlease, remember to keep all your travel tickets, boarding passes, receipts and invoices forthe reimbursement of travel cost. It is strongly recommended to make copies of all yourtickets and invoices in case some document gets lost.

Travel directionAs the activities will start on 4th August in the afternoon we kindly ask you tofind a plane so you will arrive to Bologna in the morning. On 14th, the activitieswill end in the morning so we ask you to stay in Bologna until midday!

From Bologna Airport to Bologna train stationThe Airport is about 6 Km far from Bologna city centre.A shuttle bus links G.Marconi airport to Bologna railway station (Aerobus - BLQ Shuttleservice).A one way ticket costs 6,00€ and can be bought directly into the busor in the red machine near the bus stop. You should plan the exact sum in change.Departures from the airport are scheduled every 20 minutes.There are buses from 05.30 am until 00.15 from the airport to Bologna train station. The Meeting Point:The meeting point will be in front of the main Bus station “autostazione” in Bologna at 12:00 PM.You can find the way from the Train Station to Bus station here http://goo.gl/XiFKRT . We will take

a bus number 906 from the bus station to the village Barbarolo.Here you can find the timetable of the bus 906.

Living conditionsAccommodationParticipants will be accommodated in a Scout House. It is a really small town, in the middle of

hills, without a lot of entertainments.We have chosen this kind of accommodation in order tomake participants focus more on the themes and thegroup, in order to have less external distractions. Outside: football field + 1 street and 1 square for skatingNO INTERNET CONNECTION! Keep in mind to upload all the material you need in an USB key.

MealsAll meals are covered by the project from 4thevening until 14thmorning.Please it is strongly recommended that if you have any particular need about food you shallinform us before the beginning of the youth exchange.We will use as self-management so the participants will be divided in groups to cook and toclean. These groups (in rotation) will be responsible to cook and clean the spaces EVERYDAY.Please note that Net in Action will not provide any additional accommodation for your stay inItaly outside the dates of the youth exchange.

What should you bringSkateboards, rollers, and other boardsport materials inparticular security equipment, cameras, laptop, typicalfood from your country for international evenings,





















good mood, sleeping bags, bed sets, towels, games for playing in the free time,…Don´t forget to prepare materials, pictures, videos, documents about skating and skatingculture in your country or city.

Travel and VISA reimbursement procedure

Travel should be done on the travel days of the project (4th and 14th of August). You shouldalways wait for NIA’s approval before buying tickets.If you wish to travel outside the official project dates you need Net in Action’s approval first.Please contact us at [email protected]. Tickets for travel outside the official travel datespurchased without Net in Action’s approval may not be reimbursed.

All the payment will be done in euro. In case you buy your travel with a different currencyInforEuro will be used to calculate the amount in euro.

To get the reimbursement it’s compulsory to collect and send to the host organization all thereceipts (boarding passes, e-tickets, train tickets…).Only the cost duly justified can bereimbursed. Find in the next page a table with all the reimbursement rules. The reimbursementwill be done after the project once we will have received by post ALL the original proofs oftravel. We will send you an email to remind you to send us the proofs and we will provide youthe post address to send it. We will also ask you to fill an excel table with all travel cost. We willreimburse the total amount in the partner bank account in Euro.

The Bank Account Statement must be headed to yourorganization or to one of the participants of theproject.It must report: names of participants, ticket cost, dateof issue and date of travel.The communication of Booking / Payment shallinclude: the code of identification of the booking(PNR), the name of transport company, thecharacteristics of transport, the price, the progressivenumber, dates of issue and of travel, and also thenames of participants.Boarding Pass or different statement that certifies thepresence of participants.The arrival flight has to land in Bologna on 4thofAugust. The return flight has to leave fromBologna on 14thof August. If you make a trip with astopover it cannot be more than 24 hours.If you do not comply with this constraint theItalian National Agency won’t reimburse yourflight.





























Local transfer Taxi receipt, public transportstickets, fuel card

Tickets must be regularly clipped and withthe original price visible. In absence ofvalidation and / or price a valid declaration ofthe date of use and / or the cost paid should beprovided.Transfers by taxi and private car are eligibleonly for circumstances beyond your controland only if previously approved by the ItalianNational Agency.The receipt must show date, route and driver'ssignature.
