VTR-62-E Rev 08/15 Online form at www.TxDMV.gov Exempt Vehicle Affidavit Driver Education Form Use this form to verify that your vehicle is exempt from the Certificate of Title Act (Transportation Code, Section 501.004) and payment of the prescribed motor vehicle registration fees (Transportation Code, Section 502.453.) You must use your vehicle to furnish driver education for students attending said school or a school in said district or any subdivision of state government. The driver education course must be approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and be conducted by an entity exempt from licensing under Education Code, Section 1001.002. Under the terms of an agreement between the dealer and the exempt agency, the exempt agency legally possesses and controls said vehicle(s) and is, therefore, the “owner” of the vehicle(s) for registration purposes. (Transportation Code, Section 502.001) Note: Attach this completed affidavit to the Form VTR-62-A, Application for Standard Texas Exempt License Plates. Mail the completed form and any required attachments to your local county tax assessor-collector's office. If you have any questions, contact your local county tax assessor-collector's office.
