This exercise is performed with help from a caregiver while the patient is sitting up.The patient steadies the hip on the ISKD side by grasping the thigh with both hands above the osteotomy site.With one hand, the caregiver grasps the top of the foot on the ISKD side; with the other hand, the caregiver grasps the heel of the foot.The caregiver raises the leg and pulls slightly.
The caregiver rotates the foot and ankle together as a unit, 45° in each direction, as shown.

Femoral ISKD Golf Club Technique
This exercise is performed with help from a caregiver while the patient is sitting up.The patient steadies the hip on the ISKD side by firmly grasping the thigh with both hands above the osteotomy site.With both hands, the caregiver grasps just above the ankle on the ISKD side.The caregiver raises the leg and applies gentle traction, or pulls the leg slightly.

Femoral ISKD Swing the Door Technique
Next, the caregiver rotates the leg 45° in each direction, keeping the lower half of the leg horizontal and the upper half vertical, as shown.
The caregiver uses this technique while the patient is lying flat on his or her back.The caregiver stands next to the leg that contains the ISKD.The caregiver bends the hip and the knee to 90° positions.The caregiver then grasps the top of the knee with one hand and places the other hand under the ankle.
