Summer’s here and it’s time to play! Kick-starting the party we have music from Super Furry Animals’ gruff rhys and NME’s band of 2012, howler as well as Latin vibes from Ska Cubano and a crazy gypsy, reggae swing mix from gadjo.

kitsons’ Big Screen in the park gives you the chance to watch new release Prometheous alongside cult classics with a twinkling Exeter skyline in the background; our Alternative games ensure sporting spirit is alive and well on our Terrace Bar; and a unique mix of comedy and magic are guaranteed to make you laugh.

oliver Flexman explores the perception of Western and Arab societies in Phoenix Gallery and, to tie in with the exhibition, there are artist talks, films and family friendly workshops. Throughout the holidays, our Summer Sessions workshops provide fun classes for children of all ages in animation, singing and plenty more.

See you in the sunshine...

oliver Flexman: operations in the Contact Zone

20 Jul - 31 Aug

Flexman’s work explores identity and context through a combination of video, print, drawing, and painting. Here, he investigates the stereotypes that govern our perception and engagement with the Arab world. He looks at how the stories and products pervasive in both Western and Arab societies act upon the way in which both cultural spheres understand each other.

This new collection of works follows a year-long studio residency at Exeter Phoenix and ongoing co-operation with the University of Exeter’s Institue of Arab and Islamic Studies. oliverflexman.com
