AbstractAbstract

• Importance of electrical energy• Waste of energy in the form of Exhaust• Exhaust gas recycling generator• Conservation of Energy• Faraday’s law of electromagnetic

induction

NECESSITY OF AN NECESSITY OF AN ALTERNATE SOURCEALTERNATE SOURCE• The electricity sector in India supplies

the world's 6th largest energy consumer• ALMIGHTY ELECTRICAL POWER• Urgent need of an alternate resource• The country has also invested heavily in

recent years for Renewable energy Utilization

• simple device which can produce the electric power by using the waste exhaust gases

EXHAUST STROKE AND EXHAUST STROKE AND WASTAGE OF ENERGY WASTAGE OF ENERGY

• Exhaust gas is emitted as a result of the combustion

• Discharged into the atmosphere through an exhaust pipe

• There is no use of Exhaust gases but they are one of the major air pollutant.

• With EGR generator ,we can produce power with these waste exhaust gases.

PRINCIPLE OF EGR PRINCIPLE OF EGR GENERATORGENERATOR

• Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction

• “When a current carrying Conductor is moved in a stationary Magnetic field EMF is induced due to Electro Magnetic induction”

CALCULATION

bore dia of 100cc bike = 87.5mmstroke length of 100cc bike = 83.1mm

5.2 CALCULATING THE INTAKE AIR FLOW RATE:

cubic inch displacementCID= no of cylinder x 0.7854 x bore2 x strokeCID = 1 X 0.7854 X 87.52 X 83.1CID = 0.000499m3

Intake air flow rate = (cid x rpm x ve)/3456 =(0.000499 x 7500 x 0.92)/3456 Exhaust flow rate = intake flow rate x 4.185 = 0.120m3/sVelocity = Q /A = 0.120/AA = (3.14 * 0.015*0.015)/4 = 1.767 * e-4 sqm

Page 13: Exhaust Gas Recycling Generator

WORKING• The Exhaust gases with the High Pressure

strikes the fan blades The rotor is being rotated inside a Stationary

Magnetic field ,which cuts the flux lines

• According to the principle of electro magnetic induction an Induced Emf is produced.

Page 14: Exhaust Gas Recycling Generator

SCOPESCOPE• EGR Generator may look simple but if it is installed in each and

every two wheelers, its conservation of energy is greater than anything.

• “Little Drops makes a Big ocean” as this proverb says, this little effort in conservation of energy makes a mighty result in saving energy.

• The cost of this device is estimated around Rs.850 which is not a big amount for those who are buying the vehicles for Rs.50000. If many modifications are made, the manufacturing cost may be reduced.
