FIA Region I represents 107 Touring and Motoring Clubs in Europe, the Middle East and Afri-ca from its Brussels office, which total more than 38 million members. The FIA represents the interest of these members as motorists, public transport users, pedestrians and tourists. The FIA’s primary goal is to secure a mobility that is safe, affordable, environmentally sustainable and efficient. STAND DESCRIPTIONTechnologies available to remotely access in-vehicle data will be demonstrated. Visitors will be able to track real-time car data via a PC interface connected to vehicle manufacturer’s server. The remote diagnostics available from this technology can be used for vehicle repair and main-tenance. This data can also be used to track driver behaviour and offer additional services e.g. pay-as-you-drive insurance, eco driving monitoring, safety features and concierge services. The FIA stand will also provide visitors the opportunity to learn more about mileage fraud. This common scam takes place when a vehicle’s odometer is tampered with to change the number of kilometres a car has been driven. The crime of mileage fraud affects the public at large, by artificially increasing the value of used vehicles. Visitors will have the chance to take part in an interactive demonstration of mileage fraud, showing how easy this crime can be, to raise aware-ness on the need to prevent this everyday scam.

Goodyear in Colmar-Berg is an integrated industrial complex, which is complemented by various plants and installations. It is Goodyear’s most diversified complex outside the United States. In order to be able to offer high-quality products, in-depth research and development is neces-sary. It was for this purpose that Goodyear Innovation Centre Luxembourg (GIC*L) was set up. It carries out research and development work, constructs and tests new tires for the European, African, Asian and Australian markets.Goodyear is today the number two industrial employer in Luxembourg.

STAND DESCRIPTIONThe Goodyear Dunlop Concept tires:Goodyear Dunlop introduced a new concept tire at the Geneva Motor Show’s 2014 edition which is designed to enhance the performance of the car on cornering, braking and stability thanks to a direct link between an embedded microchip in the tire and the car’s on-board com-puter. The system is built on battery-less microchip technology attached to the inside of the tire. The system sends information on tire pressure, temperature and the tire identification details to the vehicle’s computer. Using that information, the car’s central computer system is able to au-tomatically refine the vehicle’s longitudinal and lateral control algorithms, to deliver an improved driving performance.

Goodyear Dunlop also introduced at the Geneva Motor show a new future SUV tire concept. The concept builds on a standard SUV tire with a large central groove. Thanks to this groove the tire has a reduced contact patch with the road, which in turn could improve the tire’s overall rolling resistance, supporting ongoing efforts to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 re-leased from the car. The approach of the double contact patch tire on a single SUV tire carcass means that the tire is able to support the load weight of an SUV, while still offering the benefits of a double contact patch tire. As an additional benefit, the removal of a large patch of rubber from the tire to create the groove means that the tire’s overall weight is reduced, delivering a more lightweight product which uses less rubber in production. Additional features built into the tire include Auto-Clean Hydrophobic textures, designed to expel mud and other solids from the tread and advanced noise absorbing textures in tread grooves to reduce the noise the tire makes when rolling over the tarmac.

POST Luxembourg is the incumbent telecom operator of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg which was founded in 1842, and has operated as a public enterprise since 1992. It serves all segments of the community, offering both fixed and mobile services as well as IPTV and ICT services. Its major customers include the government of Luxembourg, as well as the largest financial in-stitutions and the institutions of the European Union. In 2013 the company began a major re-structure including “re-branding” from being P&T Luxembourg to POST Luxembourg. The POST Luxembourg family comprises 14 sub-companies offering a wide range of innovative and valua-ble solutions.

Faced with growing challenges in the communications market the company is moving from a traditional Telecommunications provider to an active national and international ICT actor. The POST Luxembourg group offers data storage in 3 data centres across the country as well as advanced internet and cloud services for its customers. They are also a founding partner in LU-CIX, the new commercial Internet Ipv6 exchange.

STAND DESCRIPTION POST Luxembourg is a partner in the European funded project HeERO2 to pilot pan-European eCall to be ready for its deployment in 2016.

ECall is a 112 emergency call that is triggered either manually by vehicle occupants or automat-ically as soon as the in-vehicle sensors detect the impact of a serious accident. Once activated eCall establishes a voice connection with the nearest relevant Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) and sends a minimum set of data (MSD) related to the accident including accurate vehi-cle location, time of incident and how many occupants may be concerned. Knowing the coordi-nates of the crash site allows the rescue service to arrive quicker and the time saved thus could translate into lives saved. POST Luxembourg will demonstrate how this works at our stand with displays and a live demon-stration using an eCall equipped vehicle and a simulated 112 centre.
