Expand our view of pbl by sharing, exploring what’s out there and how to evaluate it.

Apply today’s learning and tools to expand and improve our projects in our classrooms.

EXPANDING PBL: 5B. THE ‘SWEET SPOT’ FOR COMPELLING PBL

Includes ‘Big Ideas’ in the content concepts and stds.

Students feel it’s a real problem for them, Orinda or the world.

Fun, playful stuff.   21st C skills

National Ed Tech Stds for Students and 21st C Skills

Imaginative, creative, an indefinable ‘wow’ factor.

EXPANDING PBL: 5C. THE JOURNEY METAPHOR

A great destination that students might help select (product, service, purpose).

In good company.  Enough time for course re-calculations.  Packing needs you to have an idea of where you are

going.  Not too prescribed or you lose the adventure and fun.  But clear enough that you don’t get dangerously lost.
