PROGRAMME
Linguadue offers a one - week programme combining language tuition and activities to discover
Milan through a pleasant mixture of Italian tuition in the morning and interesting itineraries in the
afternoon focusing on the many aspects of this multi-faceted metropolis.

ITALIAN LANGUAGE CLASSES Classes are kept small and tuition covers practical aspects of the languages with a particular emphasis on oral communicative skills. Lessons 20 lessons per week, 4 lessons per day, Monday through Friday. Each lesson lasts 45 minutes Schedule in the morning from 9.00 to 12.30 am Duration 1 week Groups min.5 to 10 students Levels From beginner to advanced
ACTIVITIES INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAMME
The activities included in the programme will showcase the various aspects and trends of this diverse city.
Activities will be themed and vary depending on the course date. On the first day of the course there will
be an orientation on Milan with practical indication on the city.
Activity programme is provided from Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sundays are free or departure days.

EXPERIENCE MILANO – DESIGN &ARCHITECTURE FOCUS April, October / SAMPLE
PROGRAM
In April Design is the focus of Milan with the Salone del Mobile, one of the largest design fairs in the world
and with the Fuorisalone, where the whole city becomes a vast design showroom. There are many events
taking place so the programme will also include visits to Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone.

CASA MUSEO BOSCHI STEFANO The residence, once inhabited by the couple made by Antonio Boschi (1896-1988) and Marieda Di Stefano (1901-1968), hosts approximately 300 works of art.. The collection stands for an extraordinary example of the history of Italian art in the 20thcentury. Guided visit of the house museum

MUSEO DELLA TRIENNALE DESIGN- Museo del Design Italiano, presents a selection of the most iconic and representative pieces of Italian design. The works on show provide insights into the history, creative period and context in which each work was designed. Guided visit to the Design Museum.

FONDAZIONE PRADA The Milan venue of Fondazione Prada is the result of the transformation of a distillery dating back to the 1910’s. It hosts contemporary art and innovative exhibitions. Guided visit to Fondazione Prada

FONDAZIONE ACHILLE CASTIGLIONI Achille Castiglioni was an architect and object, furniture, lamp and chair designer. Milanese to the core, he has been active throughout the second half of the twentieth century and he left an enormous amount of inventions and designs, which can be visited in his studio museum. This visit can only be made upon reservation.

PINACOTECA DI BRERA - The Pinacoteca di Brera (“Brera Art Gallery”) contains one of the foremost collections of Italian paintings. Work of arts of: Raphael, Perugino, Mantegna, Caravaggio just to mention a few. Guided visit to the Pinacoteca di Brera, which is combined with a walk around the Brera area.

IL CENACOLO - The Cenacolo is a parietal fresco (460 to 880 cm) by Leonardo da Vinci, dated to 1495-1498. Leonardo’s Last Supper is one of the most visited work of arts in Milan. Availability for tickets is always very limited. Guided visit to the Church Santa Maria alle Grazie and Leonardo’s Last Supper
SAN MAURIZIO AL MONASTERO MAGGIORE - The church of San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore hides a magnificent interior. The walls are covered by beautifully well-preserved sixteenth-century frescoes. This is one of Milan’s hidden jewels. A guided visit can be combined with Leonardo Last Supper or Visiting the Church and ad the neighbouring Archeological Museum.

PINACOTECA AMBROSIANA - The Pinacoteca Ambrosiana was established in April 1618.Visitors can admire some of the greatest masterpieces of all time, such as the Portrait of a Musician by Leonardo da Vinci, The Basket of Fruit by Caravaggio, the cartoon for the School of Athens by Raphael. GALLERIE D’ITALIA – A wonderful architectural treasure in the heart of the city, in Piazza Scala. It houses a remarkable collection of ancient and contemporary art belonging to a private Bank art collection.

VILLA NECCHI CAMPIGLIO An architectural gem, immersed in an ample private garden with a swimming pool and a tennis court and set in the center of Milan, the Necchi Campiglio Villa was completed by the architect Piero Portaluppi in 1935. The collection of decorative arts and furnishings further help the visitor to imagine what life must have been like in the villa in the 1930s.

CONCEPT STORE NONOSTANTE MARRAS -This is an enchanting concept space of designer Antonio Marras in the heart of Milan design area zona Tortona. It is a discovery: part store and part secret garden. Nonostante Marras is certainly worth a visit because fashion here has a wider meaning. This visit can be combined with the visit to Armani Silos.

PINO GRASSO RICAMI ALTA MODA This is an atelier which can be visited. Pino Grasso’s atelier for embroideries is world-famous among fashion designers. Here you can appreciate the essence of made in Italy, the highest level of handicraft and creativity. This visit must be booked and availability depends on the atelier.
EXPERIENCE MILANO – MILAN MUSIC - September / SAMPLE PROGRAM
Music is an important component of Milan’s life. One of the most important event in Milan is the
season opening of La Scala theatre in December. Milano houses theatres and excellent orchestra
ensemble. The city has a lively jazz scene and is forefront for all types of music. In September
Milan houses an interesting music festival shared with Torino. MITO offers for 3 weeks concerts
and music events. There will be also opportunities to attend some concerts.

TEATRO ALLA SCALA
La Scala is an opera house in Milan. The
theater is regarded as one of the leading
opera and ballet theaters in the world. It is
possible to visit Teatro alla Scala Museum
and on selected days only with a special
reservation on Tuesdays and Thursdays the
Theatre can be visited (if there are no
rehearsals).

TEATRO SAN GIROLAMO- Built in 1868, the Theatre is located in Piazza Beccaria, halfway between the Duomo and Piazza San Babila: with its horseshoe-shaped gallery and the double order of boxes, it actually recalls a miniature version of the Scala, and represents a piece of Milan history..

LABORATORI-ATELIER ANSALDO - TEATRO ALLA SCALA Most of the handmade works for La Scala theatre production are carried out here. The premises hold more than 60,000 stage costumes and include practice rooms for the chorus and a stage area for direction rehearsals which perfectly corresponds to the Teatro alla Scala stage. LA BALERA DELL’ORTICA Ortica neighborhood has been sung by Milano most famous chansonniers. Covered with murals which are representative of various periods in Milan history the neighborhood is colorful and vibrant. It also has a few historic relics that have been destroyed in other parts of the city, like a world war bunker and a balera, a place where people that used to work on the railroads used to go to dance and have a good time. together. .
STAFF - Depending on the type of activities participants will be accompanied by either qualified
staff members, Italian teachers or art history teachers.
TRANSFER SERVICE - Participants may choose to be met on arrival at the Milan airports or at
the train station. They will be met by our professional staff and escorted to their
accommodation. Name of the student, flight or train details and arrival time has to be
communicated to the school at least 1 week in advance.
ACCOMMODATION
Our staff will be able to select a type of accommodation according to participant requirements
from the Sunday before the beginning of the Programme to the Saturday after it ends. It is
possible to choose from the following options:
Homestay - our families are happy to welcome international people to their homes . This is the
ideal situation for participants who wish to experience the Italian daily life and to practise the
language in an informal atmosphere. Our accommodation staff regularly visit local homes to
make sure a high standard of service is offered to our clients.
Student residences - Linguadue offers student residence accommodation only a few stops away
from Corso Buenos Aires where the school is located. You can choose to stay in an upscale
student residence provided with as a self service restaurant, common room with TV and video
games and fitness centre. Students may also opt for a budget residence accommodation. All
rooms are provided with private en-suite bathroom, Wi-Fi connection available 24h/day and air-
conditioning.
Sheets and towels are provided, service includes also weekly cleaning of the room.
Independent flat - For shorter stays the Linguadue can provide contact details of real estate
agencies specialized in daily and weekly flat rental. These are furnished studios or small
apartments, for one or two people, they are of varying category and dimension, fully furnished
with an equipped kitchen. Kitchen tools, bedlinen and bathtowels are provided.
Hotel - of different categories are the best option for those who prefers a completely
comprehensive service. Linguadue has a good selection of hotels with single and double rooms to
choose from.
Arrival - participants will receive details of the accommodation that has been arranged for them a
few weeks before their arrival. It is important that the student will inform the school or the family
few days in advance about the arrival time
