Your First Year (New Student Programs)

With an emphasis on assisting you throughout your transition to the university, New Student Programs focuses on your academic success and connection to campus during your first year at NC State. This session will provide an overview of the programs available to you throughout your first year, including the Summer Start program. Summer START gives you the opportunity to begin your NC State career early by taking up to eight credit hours towards your degree this summer and navigate campus before the fall semester.

An important component of Experience NC State for parents and family members is an opportunity to hear from, and engage with, a panel of current Pack Parents. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions (parent-to-parent) and hear firsthand from parents and family members who have been through the college selection process and why their student attending NC State was the best match for their student and their family.
