Frequently Asked Questions
• I don’t have the new molle system, LBE, ballistic helmet, etc. Can I use the older versions that were issued to me?– Yes you can. If you were issued any of the
older equipment (i.e. LBV, ruck, kelvar helmet, etc.), these can be used in lieu of the new equipment. Host unit will issue the approved packing list
– You may also use a hydration system (i.e. camelback) in lieu of the second canteen.

Frequently Asked Questions
• My chain of command told me that I will be trained for EFMB when I get to the site. Is this true?– This is one of the biggest misconceptions out
there when it comes to EFMB. No you won’t.– It is your chain of command’s responsibility to
train you prior to EFMB testing. – You will receive “standardization” on how EFMB
testing will be conducted – If you don’t train prior to EFMB, the probability
of you earning the badge is low, but possible

Frequently Asked Questions
• My chain of command doesn’t conduct any EFMB training. What can I do to get ready?– You’re not alone. Unfortunately, many units out
there don’t train their Soldiers prior to going to EFMB.
– Check with other local units to see if they are doing any training and try to piggyback on it
– Visit the EFMB Web Site for advise, training tips, references, and other EFMB Material. Start by reading through the references. • https://www.us.army.mil/suite/page/140048
