The Food Fair held by the Adriatic Fair in Budva is the only fair event in Montenegro recognised by the global trade fair association, UFI, headquartered in Paris. Unlike local presentations, which certainly have a role to play, the Food Fair is recognised as an international platform, providing opportunities to further internationalise companies in Montenegro. The fair is certainly an opportunity for knowledge transfer and the download of good practice, but also an opportunity for showing the levels of development attained in the food sector.

The Partner Country for the Jubilee Food Fair is the Republic of Hungary. The Ministry of Rural Development of Hungary and state agencies support international trade and investment in strategic sectors; they will present companies in the fi eld of food and related industries, interested in the placement foodstuff s and

co-operation with institutional and business partners in the markets of Montenegro and the region. This Institutional presence and the support of businessmen comes full circle; representatives will include the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Montenegro, the Agency for Environmental Protection of Montenegro, Montenegrin Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of Commerce of Belgrade, the National Tourist Organisation, IPAK - the state agency for investment promotion Kosovo, the Union of Employers of Albania, national Tourism organisation of Serbia and the Republic Srpska from BiH , and numerous associations and organisations in the tourism and the food industry. The programme content of the exhibition is thematically focused on the promotion and valorisation of cross-border co-operation in agribusiness, tourism and ecology, as well as connecting

and synergising action of these strategic sectors of the economy. Presentations, lectures and panel discussions covering current topics of cross-border co-operation and an evaluation of tourism potential, seasonal employment, linking food producers, hoteliers and restaurateurs, as well as current approaches to the marketing of food products, will further highlight the opportunities and enhance successful models of development co-operation. Within the Fair, we have provided opportunities for the achievement of specifi c forms of co-operation between companies and entrepreneurs, in the form of B2B meetings. In the programme segment of promotional and entertainment, stalls in the exhibition space will be organised with possibilities for numerous promotions and product sampling reputable from fi rms.

23rd Tourism Fair - METUBES will organise tourism operators in Montenegro and neighbouring countries.

Among many aspects, specifi cally are included equipment for hotels and catering, and a diverse range of package tour operators and carriers to meet the summer tourist season.

The 20th Ecology Fair will represent public companies, institutions, products and services in the fi eld of sustainable development, protection and improvement of the environment, recycling and disposal. The exhibition and programming of the fair, covering current projects and activities, will present the Agency for Environmental Protection, the Hydrometeorological Institute, GBC Montenegro, ecological movements, producers of healthy organic food and renowned speakers from home and abroad in the fi eld of renewable energy.

For the Tourism Fair, an economic delegation will visit Albania, to be led by Mr. Luan Bergasi, president of the employers’ organisations of Albania, “Business Albania” and the Director of International Co-operation, Mr. Koli Sinjar. As part of the fair, we will hold presentations on the topic of

“Cross-border routes to boost tourism and an economic evaluation of Skadar Lake”.

Albanian businessmen can use the opportunity for B2B business meetings at exhibitors stands, and their presence is anticipated at the opening ceremony on April 3, beginning at 11 am.

Within the framework of the 38th Furniture Fair, the 9th Meeting of the Board of Association of forestry, wood and paper industry was held, with graphics and publishing activities organised by the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro. According to Goran Popovic, Secretary of the Committee, the meeting discussed the programme of forest management in 2014. Representatives of the companies were able to express their requirements for better business in the future.
