Export Market Brief – Sulphonamides (HS 2935) Export growth: U.S. exports of HS 2935 products increased from $388 million in 2008 to $544 million in 2011, an increase of 60.9% over the four-year period. Leading Export Markets: The leading markets for U.S. exports of HS 2935 products in 2011 (all valued above $156 million were France (28.8% of total) and United Kingdom (28.1%). Other top markets (above $10 million) were Hong Kong (9.5%), Japan (8.7%), Belgium (6.5%), Netherlands (5.0%), Australia (3.2%) and Canada (2.0). Fastest Growing Export Markets: The leading markets with both high and sustained growth rates for U.S. exports of HS 2935 products over the latest four years (2008-2011) and continuing in 2010-2011 were France, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Belgium, Netherlands and Australia. Other significant growth markets in the top 25 over the 2008-2011 period were Germany, Mexico, China, Italy, South Africa and Taiwan. Leading and Fastest Growing Importing Countries: The leading foreign importers of HS 2935 products in 2010 (excluding the U.S.) were Germany ($183 million or 11.3% of total), Belgium (10.1%), Japan (5.5%), United Kingdom (5.4%), and France (5.0%). Other significant foreign importers (all above $75 million) were Brazil (2.2%), Poland (1.9%), Ireland (1.8%), Netherlands (1.7%), China (1.6%) and Canada (1.3%).
