Export XP Certificate

It is recommended ALL personnel request brand new certificates
on XP computers prior to converting all facility computers to
Vista. Once the new certificate is installed on the XP machine,
individuals must follow these export procedures BEFORE all
computers are converted to Vista.
The certificate will be good for one year while the NOTAM office
continues maintenance to allow certificate requests via Vista
systems.
First, Go to Internet Explorer,
Then “Tools,” then “Internet Options”
Then “Content” (shown at the top)
Then “Certificates, ” then “Export”

shared network drive (NOT on the
XP computer).
You will need to access the certificate
after Vista is installed.

to import. THEN, click it.

Type the password you selected
when you exported the certificate.
You must remember the
password or the certificate will
NOT work!

allow you to import the
certificate again to another
computer (if required). Of
course, you MUST remember
the password.

to “Personal.” Select Browse, and
then click “Personal” if it didn’t
default correctly.
