THEVISIONThe allure of Emerald Gardens is undoubtedly its unbeatable location in Kew – one of London’s most prized and loved villages and home to the famous Kew Gardens.
People who know London know how easy it is to fall in love with Kew’s leafy green streets, lovely parks and authentic village feel which create a close-knit community spirit against a stunning architectural and natural landscape.
The Thames river is within walking distance from Emerald Gardens and there are fantastic commuter links nearby, meaning residents can get into the city from the development in just over 30 minutes – making it incredibly easy to enjoy the best of both worlds.
Residents at Emerald Gardens will benefit from a variety of nearby amenities and attractions in Kew such as Kew Botanical Gardens, Kew Palace and the National Archive, which holds 900 years of historical records including the Domesday Book. The village also boasts its own retail park with several big name high street brands.
With a great choice of well-regarded schools nearby, Emerald Gardens is ideally suited to families and for added convenience even a new GP surgery will be built on site. The development also offers a fantastic communal courtyard which has been beautifully landscaped and designed as a tranquil outdoor space with a charming water fountain, quiet seating areas and children’s play features to be enjoyed all year round.
Each of the new homes will be finished to an exceptionally high standard with luxurious specification fitted as standard, including fully-integrated kitchens with granite worktops and contemporary wine coolers, flooring throughout and wall-hung sanitary ware.
Emerald Gardens is perfect for those looking to live in an established London village with a wide appeal – from downsizers who are looking for a more manageable property, to professionals working in the city who want to escape the hustle and bustle.
EMMA JONES SALES AND MARKETING DIRECTOR, TAYLOR WIMPEY WEST LONDON
LANDSCAPE DESIGN
The centrepiece of the Emerald Gardens development is a large communal courtyard which provides a public space for use by the residents all year round. The courtyard will provide an attractive outlook for all the apartments that face towards it, with a large lawn interspersed by plentiful tree and shrub planting.
The key central feature is a beautiful water fountain, containing a series of small bubble jets and a mirror pool to reflect the surrounding trees and buildings. Quiet seating areas are nestled into the corners of the courtyard, where benches are provided beneath timber pergolas, whilst low-key play features provide interest for younger residents.
The lush courtyard will be planted with a verdant array of flowering plants and ornamental grasses to provide colour and seasonal interest, whilst trees provide height, structure and dappled shade. Raised planters provide both informal seating around the courtyard and also a degree of privacy to the numerous ground-floor terraces.
GREG COLLINS ASSOCIATE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT, CSA ENVIRONMENTAL
ARCHITECTURE/TECHNICAL
Our vision for Emerald Gardens is to create an exceptionally high-quality development with a new London Square at its heart – transforming what has been for many years an unloved and unused site into a new gateway for this part of Kew.
Our design, developed in consultation with neighbouring residents groups and local stakeholders, comprises a series of pavilion buildings surrounding a central square which will form an active and vibrant focal point for this residential-led development with the community at its heart.
Breaks between the new buildings create views through to the square, while a landscaped perimeter softens the scheme’s impact on its neighbours. This will create a unique identity and sense of place within this island site.
While Emerald Gardens is certainly ‘of its time’, it takes its design cues from the rhythm and proportions of grand local buildings such as Syon House, with its ordered, brick facades and clean vertical lines.
Environmentally friendly and sustainable, the apartment buildings feature photovoltaic cells to offset energy use; inset balconies provide shade and control overheating, and large full height windows create bright, naturally lit interiors.
BEN WILLIAMSON ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, PRP
BEHIND THE SCENES
INTERIOR DESIGN
The home interiors at Emerald Gardens are a fusion of classic glamour and luxurious comfort. The harmonious colour palette and range of tactile finishes is designed to create a tranquil atmosphere that perfectly complements the Kew location. Kitchens, flooring and tiles have been carefully selected to reflect the latest trends whilst giving an impression of elegance.
Our show apartment at Emerald Gardens is an inspirational property which has been carefully designed and thoughtfully decorated to provide homebuyers with an exciting glimpse into the amazing and unique lifestyles on offer in this highly-desirable location.
Bespoke furniture and hand-painted artwork pick out the accent colours of bronze and midnight blue, creating a seamless environment that gives a real sense of space. The use of sumptuous textures combined with designer accessories creates a refined, aspirational design.
Prospective purchasers can get a real taste for the wonderful lifestyle opportunities available at Emerald Gardens by taking a tour of the outstanding show apartment.
