External Trade Tendencies of Georgia in 2012
External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-organized trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 10220
million in 2012, up 11 percent from the same period of the previous year. Compared to 2011, the volume
of export grew by 9 percent and reached USD 2377 million, while import increased by 11 percent
amounting to USD 7842 million. The trade deficit reached USD 5465 million and amounted to 53 percent
of the total trade turnover.
The main tendencies existing in the external trade of Georgia during the last several years are
shown in the tables and charts below:
