Define
Narrative writing
Activity 1: Start by using simple stories.
Be Creative
Use pictures and texts. Expose students to
the language.
Focused word work: Vocabulary and grammar items
For weaker learners -Start with guided writing in the first
stages.
Don’t forget to make it fun!
Activity 2: Writing Pelmanism
1. Read the story a few times.
2. Cover some words / phrases /sentences.
3. Ask students to guess the covered words / phrases /
sentences. 4. Gradually increase
the number of covered words /
phrases / sentences until everything is
covered. 5. Ask students to
rewrite the story.
Activity 3: Modelled and shared writing.
Introduce the key words / vocabulary.
Teacher demonstrates it to the students first.
Encourage students to give their ideas / inputs.
Activity 4: Guided collaborative writing.
Use the sentence panel. Let the students master the sentence structure.
Introduce time markers, conjunctions and connectors.
