GENERAL ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS:

THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATIONS DEFINE THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL ELECTRICAL WORK PROVIDEDUNDER THIS CONTRACT. WHERE CODES OR STANDARDS ARE REFERENCED, THE REFERENCE IS TO THE MOSTRECENT ISSUE AT BID CLOSE.

1. PROVIDE ALL EQUIPMENT, DEVICES, MATERIAL AND WORK PER THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE ANDAPPLICABLE STATE AND LOCAL CODES.

2. VISIT THE JOB SITE PRIOR TO SUBMITTING A BID TO VERIFY EXISTING CONDITIONS AS SHOWN RELATED TOTHIS CONTRACT INCLUDING: LOCATIONS, DIMENSIONS AND QUANTITIES.

3. ALL EQUIPMENT, DEVICES, AND MATERIAL SHALL BE NEW, FREE FROM DEFECTS, AND UL LISTED FOR THEINTENDED USE. EACH ITEM SHALL BE PROVIDED PER THE UL LISTING AND THE MANUFACTURER'SINSTRUCTIONS.

4. PERFORM WORK IN A NEAT AND WORKMANLIKE MANNER. PROVIDE A SAFE WORK AREA, AND ACCESS TO IT,WHERE INSPECTIONS OR OTHER SITE VISITS ARE REQUIRED BY THE OWNER OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVES.KEEP THE WORK AREA FREE FROM DEBRIS AND BROOM CLEAN AT THE END OF EACH WORK DAY.

5. PROVIDE COORDINATION AMONG THE TRADES TO AVOID CONFLICTS WITH EQUIPMENT AND CONDUITLOCATIONS.

6. PROVIDE COORDINATION AMONG ALL EQUIPMENT OR DEVICE MANUFACTURERS TO VERIFY THAT THEEQUIPMENT WILL SAFELY OPERATE AS INTENDED AS PROVIDED.

7. PROVIDE COORDINATION WITH THE LOCAL ELECTRIC AND TELEPHONE UTILITY COMPANIES TO DETERMINETHE DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS OF THEIR SERVICE CONNECTIONS. PROVIDE SERVICE CONNECTIONS INACCORDANCE WITH THE UTILITY COMPANIES' DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS.

8. IT IS NOT THE INTENT OF THESE DRAWINGS TO SHOW EVERY DETAIL THAT MAY BE NEEDED TO PROVIDE THEEQUIPMENT, DEVICES, OR MATERIAL FOR A COMPLETE AND OPERABLE SYSTEM. WHERE SUCH DETAILS ARENOT SHOWN, PROVIDE THE EQUIPMENT, DEVICES, OR MATERIAL PER MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS.

10. PROVIDE COPPER CONDUCTORS WITH THWN INSULATION FOR ALL POWER AND CONTROL CABLES. PROVIDECOPPER #16 AWG TWISTED, SHIELDED PAIRS OR TRIADS, WITH CHLORINATED POLYETHYLENE JACKETED,BELDEN #9316-R, OR EQUAL. THE ABOVE CABLE REQUIREMENTS APPLY FOR ALL CABLE.

11. PROVIDE MINIMUM 3/4" THREADED, GALVANIZED RIGID STEEL FOR ALL EXPOSED CONDUIT. PAINT THETHREADS WITH A ZINC RICH PAINT PRIOR TO ASSEMBLY. PROVIDE MINIMUM 3/4", SCHEDULE 40, PVC CONDUITFOR UNDERGROUND CONDUIT WITH SOLVENT WELDED FITTINGS. EACH CONDUIT SHALL CONTAIN A GROUNDCONDUCTOR, SIZED PER THE 2011 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE TABLE 250.122. THE MINIMUM BURIAL DEPTHOF CONDUIT IS 24". PROVIDE BRASS CONDUIT TAGS AT EACH END WITH STAINLESS STEEL WIRE.

12. PROVIDE BOXES AND CONDUIT BODIES SIZED PER THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE. NOT ALL PULL BOXESTHAT ARE REQUIRED ARE SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PULL BOXES AND CONDUITBODIES AS REQUIRED TO LIMIT THE LENGTH OF A CONDUIT RUN BETWEEN PULL BOXES TO 200 FEET, AND TOLIMIT THE CUMULATIVE ANGLE OF BENDS TO 270 DEGREES. EXCEPT FOR LIGHTING CIRCUITS, SPLICES INPULL BOXES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.

13. PROVIDE PHENOLIC BLACK NAMEPLATES WITH WHITE UNDERLAY, MACHINE ENGRAVED, WITH 1/4" LETTERING,AND SELF TAPPING STAINLESS STEEL SCREWS FOR ALL EQUIPMENT AND DEVICES. WHERE A DEVICE WILLNOT ACCOMMODATE A PHENOLIC NAMEPLATE, PROVIDE A 1 HOLE, 1" BRASS DISK, STAMPED WITH 1/4"LETTERING SHOWING ONLY THE DEVICE DESIGNATION, SECURED WITH STAINLESS STEEL WIRE AT THEDEVICE.

14. GROUNDING SHALL COMPLY WITH NEC ART. 250. THE GROUND ELECTRODE SYSTEM SHALL CONSIST OFDRIVEN GROUND RODS, 3/4"Ø x 10' COPPER CLAD STEEL. RODS SHALL BE INTERCONNECTED WITH #2 BARECOPPER GROUND WIRE BURIED A MINIMUM OF 18" BELOW GRADE. USE #2 COPPER STRANDED WIRE WITHGREEN COLOR INSULATION FOR ABOVE GRADE GROUNDING. PROVIDE UFER, CONCRETE ENCASEDELECTRODES PER NEC 250.52(3), BY EMBEDDING BARE CONDUCTORS IN CONCRETE NEAR BOTTOM OFFOOTING. NAMEPLATES SHALL BE BLACK PHENOLIC WITH WHITE LETTERING. NAMEPLATES SHALL BE MOUNTEDWITH STAINLESS STEEL SCREWS. ADHESIVE TYPE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE. SEAL AROUNDSCREWS WITH SILICONE.

1.6 INDICATING LIGHTS:

FURNISH AND INSTALL 30.5mm LED PUSH-TO-TEST LIGHTS TO INDICATE STATUS AND ALARMCONDITIONS LOCALLY AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS.INDICATING LIGHTS SHALL BE U.L. LISTED, OIL-TIGHT DEVICES RATED HEAVY DUTY. ALLWIRES MUST BE TERMINATED ON A TERMINAL BLOCK WITH NO MORE THAN TWO CONDUCTORS PERTERMINAL. NO BUTT SPLICES OR WIRE NUTS ALLOWED WITHIN THE CONTROL PANEL. TERMINALBLOCKS SHALL BE ALLEN BRADLEY, CONNECTRON OR EQUAL.POWER DISTRIBUTION BLOCKS SHALL BE FURNISHED AND INSTALLED IN THE CONTROL PANEL ASREQUIRED FOR DISTRIBUTION OF THE THREE-PHASE POWER. DISTRIBUTION BLOCKS SHALL BEMARATHON, ILSCO OR EQUAL.

1.12 VENTILATION:

CABINET VENTILATION SHALL BE ACCOMPLISHED WITH COOLING FANS AND LOUVERS TOP ANDBOTTOM, EQUIPPED WITH ENCAPSULATED BUG SCREENS AND CLEANABLE FILTERS. COOLING FANSSHALL BE ENCAPSULATED WITH RAIN CAP AT TOP OF CABINET FOR HEAT DISSIPATION AS SHOWN ONPLANS.

1.13 TESTING:

1. THE FULLY CONFIGURED SYSTEM AS A WHOLE SHALL BE SUCCESSFULLY SUBMITTED TO AFACTORY ACCEPTANCE TEST BEFORE SHIPMENT TO THE JOBSITE. THE OWNER AND ENGINEERSHALL, AT THEIR DISCRETION, ATTEND AND WITNESS THE FACTORY ACCEPTANCE TEST TOENSURE QUALITY AND PROPER FUNCTIONALITY BEFORE SHIPPING TO THE JOBSITE AND BILLINGFOR PROGRESS PAYMENT. SYSTEM SHALL INCLUDE CONTROL PANELS, PLC / RTU SYSTEMS, ANDCOMMUNICATIONS. THE SYSTEM SHALL BE FULLY ASSEMBLED AS ONE ASSEMBLY, AND WIRED,AND TESTED TO SIMULATE AS-INSTALLED CONDITION.

2. FACTORY TESTING SHALL BE CONDUCTED IN FACTORY SETTING AND TAKE PLACE ATINTEGRATOR'S FACILITY.

3. PRIOR TO FACTORY SYSTEM TESTING, SUBMIT A WRITTEN DETAILED TEST PROCEDURE FORREVIEW BY THE OWNER. NOTIFY THE OWNER IN WRITING FOUR WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF THESCHEDULED TESTING.

4. FACTORY WITNESS TESTS SHALL DEMONSTRATE THAT THE SYSTEM WILL PERFORM EACHOPERATION REQUIRED FOR ALL SPECIFIED CONDITIONS, INCLUDING BOTH NORMAL ANDEMERGENCY OPERATIONS AND CONDITIONS. PROVIDE A CERTIFICATION AND LOG OF ALL TESTSTO THE OWNER FOR REVIEW AND COMMENT.

5. CHECK PANEL WIRING AGAINST APPROVED SUBMITTAL DRAWINGS. RECORD ANY CHANGES MADEDURING TESTING OF THE EQUIPMENT ON THE RECORD DRAWINGS.

6. THE SYSTEM SHALL BE EXERCISED THROUGH OPERATIONAL TESTS, UNDERFACTORY-SIMULATED CONDITIONS TO DEMONSTRATE THAT THE SYSTEM IS FULLY CONFIGUREDTO PERFORM ALL CONTROL, LOGIC, AND MONITORING FUNCTIONS AS SPECIFIED AND THAT THESYSTEM IS READY FOR FIELD INSTALLATION. ALL TEST EQUIPMENT REQUIRED TO SIMULATEACTUAL FIELD CONDITIONS SHALL BE PROVIDED BY THE CONTROL SYSTEM INTEGRATOR.

7. THE FACTORY WITNESS TEST SHALL TAKE AS LONG AS NECESSARY TO DEMONSTRATE TO THEOWNER AND THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE THAT THE SYSTEM PERFORMS EACH OPERATION.

8. A RETURN VISIT TO THE INTEGRATOR'S FACILITY FOR RE-TESTING WILL BE AT THE TOTALEXPENSE OF THE INTEGRATOR/CONTRACTOR.

9. PROVIDE INSULATION RESISTANCE MEASUREMENTS ON ALL CONDUCTORS. TESTS SHALL BEMADE ON CONDUCTORS AND ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT THAT WILL CARRY CURRENT. THEMINIMUM ACCEPTABLE VALUES OF INSULATION RESISTANCE SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITHTHE APPLICABLE NETA-ATS, ICEA, NEMA OR ANSI STANDARDS FOR THE EQUIPMENT OR MATERIALBEING TESTED. A MEGOHMMETER SHALL BE USED FOR TESTS. INSULATION WITH RESISTANCEOF LESS THAN 100 MEGOHMS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

10. TEST THE WELL PUMP FOR PROPER CONNECTION AND FULL LOAD AMPS RUNNING.

11. PROVIDE ARC FLASH LABELS FOR ALL NEW EQUIPMENT AND INSTALL LABELS ON THEEQUIPMENT.

CONTROL SYSTEMS:

1. MANUFACTURING AND INTEGRATION OF CONTROL SYSTEMS MUST BE PERFORMED BY AQUALIFIED SYSTEM INTEGRATOR. SYSTEM INTEGRATOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PUMPCONTROL PANEL MANUFACTURING, INTEGRATION OF INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEMS AND ALLRELATED PLC PROGRAMMING AND SCADA PROGRAMMING FOR THIS PROJECT. NEW SCADASCREENS SHALL BE PROGRAMMED FOR MAIN CONTROL SYSTEM FOR THE PLANT AND FOR LOCALSCREENS AT THE LOCAL ELECTRICAL ROOM. PANELS SHALL BE RATED UL508A FROM THE SHOP.

2. SYSTEM INTEGRATOR SHALL PERFORM ALL FACTORY ACCEPTANCE TESTING (TO BE WITNESSEDBY THE OWNER, AT THEIR OPTION) AT SYSTEM INTEGRATOR'S FACILITY AS A COMPLETELYINTEGRATED, WHOLE SYSTEM TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE OWNER PRIOR TO DELIVERY OFEQUIPMENT TO THE JOBSITE (OR RELATED PROGRESS PAYMENTS).

3. SYSTEM INTEGRATOR SHALL PERFORM ALL TECHNICAL FIELD SERVICES, INCLUDINGCALIBRATIONS, SYSTEM VERIFICATIONS, INTEGRATION INTO EXISTING SYSTEMS (TO MATCHOWNER STANDARDS), FIELD ACCEPTANCE TESTING, AND STARTUP FOR COMPLETE TURN-KEYSERVICES.

4. ALL EQUIPMENT, MANUFACTURING, INTEGRATION, PLC PROGRAMMING, SCADA PROGRAMMING,AND FIELD SERVICES SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH EXISTING ESTABLISHED STANDARDS ANDMETHODOLOGIES; INCLUDING EQUIPMENT SUPPLY, MANUFACTURING PRACTICES, CONTROLSTRATEGIES AND PROGRAMMING METHODOLOGIES, TESTING PROCEDURES, ANDCOMPREHENSIVE DOCUMENTATION.
