ELEMENTARY 3:15 – 4:15 p.m.Enrichment Classes at the Elementary level continue to empower students as they explore and engage with new curriculum. Each offering is intended to draw on multiple intelligences that can be developed in both a simultaneous and complementary style. The goal of this curriculum is for students to connect the learning from these courses to the work in the classroom, real life situations, and the work of their peers. Storytime Yoga with KidPowerment Storytelling and music abound as students learn about healthy living in a fun and active way. While traveling through a world of imagination, children learn to calm their minds and bodies, take healthy risks, and respect the needs of others. Creative Play (P3 – Kindergarten only)Knucklebones® Creative Play programs combine movement through games and activities as well as music and creative expression. Each week your coach engages the children using a plethora of unique equipment including scarves, ribbons, balancing stones, hula hoops, balls, inflatable tubes and much more. We’ll also play traditional athletic games but with a unique twist, allowing everyone to have fun.

Lab Science (Grade 3 – 5 only)Come discover what makes science both incredible and useful! Partnering with MIT, students learn about stars & galaxies, atoms & molecules, forces & motion, electricity, and the elements. Meetings are hands-on and informal, featuring experiments, demonstrations, and deep exploration of student-driven questions. Students are guaranteed to come away with great excitement about science and its crucial role in our daily lives!

MIT XploreStudents improve their ability to think logically in the context of mathematics for the purpose of critically analyzing their current knowledge, arriving at new under-standings, and improving their problem solving skills. The program offered by MITxplore is divided into two components: one theoretical component and one practical component. In the theoretical component of the program, student explorers discover unknown areas of mathematics, sparking their curiosity and nurturing their logical reasoning. In the practical component, students improve their problem solving skills by completing tailored exercises and participating in fun activities. The set of skill acquisition is designed to nurture and empower students to continue their explora-tion of mathematics, as well as other fields well beyond their length of involvement in our program.

Big Mac (Grade 5 – 6 only)The Montessori Athletic Conference (Big M.A.C.) was formed in the fall of 2009 to provide students with healthy, enjoyable competition that promotes physical and social growth while teaching good sportsmanship. The Big M.A.C. is comprised of 12 schools which include Kingsley, Lexington, Oak Meadow, Andover, Inly, Riverbend, Thatcher, Harborlight, Woodside, Cambridge, Stoneridge, and Bay Farm. All students in Fifth and Sixth Grade are eligible to play for Kingsley’s Big M.A.C. team.

KMS Run Club (Grade 2 – 4 only)The Kingsley Run Club keeps kids moving! Utilizing the beautiful neighborhood, kids run and play while learning the importance of health, safety, teamwork, and exercise. Students run along the Esplanade and through the streets of Back Bay. They also follow an indoor currciulum that takes them through the evolution of running and the importance of stretching, breathing, and short drills.

ISEE Prep Course (Grade 6 only)In partnership with Kaplan, Kingsley offers a robust 8-week preparatory course for the Independent School Entrance Exam. This class covers both the content and test taking strategy for each subtest, including the essay. Private Music LessonsBuilding Confidence and A Love of MusicAGE 5 – GRADE 6

PIANO, VOICE, VIOLA, VIOLIN, CELLO, GUITAR, AND UKULELE

Private music lessons provide students with an opportunity to learn new instruments, experiment with musical concepts, and solidify their notation and improvisation skills. Offered by highly skilled musicians once a week, lessons are based on the individual needs and interests of each child. At the end of the program session, students are invited to share their work during the end-of-year recital. To schedule your child’s private music lesson, please contact the Associate

Spring Vacation CareA Week to Innovate and ExperimentAGE 3 – GRADE 6, EXETER AND FAIRFIELD BUILDINGS

Typically offered during the Winter and Spring Breaks, Vacation Care is a smaller-scaled version of Kingsley’s Summertime Program. Staffed by Kingsley teachers, the Vacation Care Program gives children the opportunity to discover new interests, to explore interesting subjects, and to have fun! The pace of the day is flexible, providing children access to all of the School’s resources and enabling them to become immersed in numerous projects and activities. Walking field trips and special guests are also an integral part of the week’s highlights. Winter Vacation Care will not be offered this year due to

the constraints of the 2013 – 2014 holiday calendar.
