Here, the patient and family are the true focus of medical and nursing care. Your child will be cared for by a Board-Certified Pediatrician and highly trained staff. The single-bed rooms are large and provide plenty of space for family members and the care team. Patients have access to television, DVD movies and video games. Sleeping arrangements can be made for parents and family members. Our family-centered approach to care is designed to meet the needs of our patients and foster partnerships between families and health care professionals. Surgical Services The ORHC surgical team includes physicians and nurses with specialized skills to provide our patients with expert care. The team is experienced in the use of current techniques, including minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures. More than 10,000 diverse surgical procedures are performed at Ottumwa Regional Health Center each year. Our facility houses five modern operating suites, a twenty-one bay one day surgery unit, three gastrointestinal procedure rooms, a fully equipped post-anesthesia care unit equipped with high-definition monitors, and daVinci robotic technology. Specialties offered by ORHC surgical services include: Cardiac Catheterization Dental ENT Gastroenterology General Surgery Gynecology OB-C-section Ophthalmology Orthopedic Podiatry Urology Vascular Sleep Lab The Sleep Lab is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders in adolescents and adults. Our technical staff includes Registered Respiratory Therapists and Registered Polysomnographers who work under the direct supervision of the Medical Director. The lab is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and offers a safe, climate and sound controlled environment. Each private room features a full size bed, chair or recliner and flat screen television. Women’s Services The Women and Family Center at ORHC is dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs for growing families from prenatal to delivery. Experienced staff deliver more than 500 each year. All of our physicians are Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and one of them is on call 24 hours a day to care for those patients entering labor spontaneously. Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center The Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center specializes in outpatient treatment for all patients with any wounds. The program assists patients with difficult wound healing problems through a team treatment approach. Each patient receives a customized care plan from the physician and a nurse case manager to help navigate the prescribed plan. The center focuses on prevention of amputation and they provide limb saving technologies like Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), vacuum assisted closure (VAC), and cellular or tissue-based grafting. Our specialized staff has extensive training and expertise in wound healing and provides support to patients, their families and caregivers through comprehensive education. The types of wounds that can benefit from treatment include diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, wounds caused by circulatory problems, pressure sores, traumatic wounds, post-radiation wounds, and any other concerning wounds. Behavioral Health Center Behavioral Health Center is a 14 bed unit offering a full range of specialized mental health services to meet the needs of adults 18 and older and their families. Individuals who could benefit from these services include those who, require 24 hour professional observation, have severe depression and lack coping skills, exhibit behavior that interferes with the ability to function and care for oneself or pose a risk to themselves or others.

Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit The Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) team includes the doctor, nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, and others, all working together to maximize your recovery, functional abilities, and level of self-reliance to return to your home or another facility. We recognize the importance of quality and have voluntarily selected to be CARF and The Joint Commission accredited to elevate our care. We work as an interdisciplinary team that is patient centered and patient driven to achieve excellence. We listen and we care about the needs of the patient and their loved ones.

McCreery Cancer Center More than a treatment center, the McCreery Cancer Center is a resource for patients and their families, offering the most up-to-date treatments delivered by compassionate providers and staff. Here, patients and families will find an environment designed for healing. A courtyard provides a place to enjoy fresh air and the radiation therapy treatment room offers a beautiful overhead skyscape of trees and sunlight.

Cardiac Care The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory provides state-of-the-art diagnostic coronary procedures. Our team consists of specialty-trained nurses, board-certified cardiologists, and radiology technicians who have all gone through a tough, demanding training for certification. The same staff cares for you before and during your procedure. We are proud to offer care to cardiac patients close to home.

Cardiac Rehabilitation The Cardiac Rehabilitation program helps to improve the quality of life for individuals with heart disease. An overall treatment plan is designed specifically for the participant by the program’s multi-discipline team. The plan could include exercise sessions aimed at improving the patient’s muscle strength, endurance, and flexibility. In addition to the exercise component, all participants receive training and education in stress management, nutrition and dietary modification, exercise principles, and cardiac disease risk factors and intervention. The patient’s treatment plan always takes into account his or her age, medical history, exercise tolerance and other factors.

Emergency Department The Emergency Department operates as a Level IV Trauma Center, providing 24-hour acute care. Staffing includes doctors, registered nurses, paramedics and emergency technicians. The ambulance service, Ottumwa Regional Mobile Intensive Care Services (ORMICS), is the 911 service for Wapello County and also provides mutual aid to any regional service program.

Home Care Ottumwa Regional Home Care offers home health care to residents in a ten-county area that includes: Appanoose, Davis, Jefferson, Keokuk, Mahaska, eastern Marion, Monroe, Van Buren, Wapello and western Washington. Home Care patients are referred by their primary care physician. Experienced nurses will provide a thorough assessment and work with the physician to set up an individualized plan of care to meet your health care needs. We are Medicare certified and will help you in seeking reimbursement for your home health care services from Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers. We are certified to provide services to clients who qualify for Elderly, Ill and Handicapped, AIDS-HIV, HCBS Intellectual Disability, and Brain Injury waivers.

Hospitalist Program The Hospitalist and your Primary Care Provider will work together during your hospital stay. The Hospitalist will keep your Primary Care Provider informed about your progress, including any significant changes in your condition. When it’s time for you to leave the hospital, the Hospitalist will ensure continuity of care by contacting your Primary Care Provider with all the necessary information, such as prescriptions, appointments and follow up care.

Imaging Services Imaging Services at Ottumwa Regional Health Center focus on safe and accurate diagnostic results. We pride ourselves on a consistent level of superior quality and have achieved national accreditation in Mammography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Computed Tomography, and Nuclear Medicine as a result of our continuous dedication and high standard of care. The following radiology services are available at Ottumwa Regional Health Center: • Diagnostic X-Ray services • Fluoroscopy services • MRI Scan` • CT services (128 slice, minimal dose) • Bone Densitometry Scan • Comprehensive Ultrasound services • Nuclear Medicine • 3D and Digital Mammography

Infusion Center The Infusion Center offers the administration of blood products, intravenous antibiotics, subcutaneous injections, phlebotomy, vaccines, and intravenous hydration. The Infusion Center is open seven days

a week and is staffed by two Registered Nurses and a Nurse Assistant. The Center can accommodate up to eight patients with semi-private rooms.

Inpatient Dialysis Patients who are in the hospital and are already on dialysis (hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis) are able to continue their treatment while in the hospital. In addition, patients needing emergent and/or short-term dialysis or patients new to dialysis can be treated.

Laboratory Services Collaborative Laboratory Services is a full service College of American Pathologists (CAP) Accredited laboratory providing high-quality reference laboratory services for clinics and hospitals. CLS offers Pathology consultations from Board Certified Pathologists who have years of experience in the field of anatomic and clinical pathology, as well as sub-specialization in dermatopathology, hematopathology and cytopathology.

Occupational Health Services designed to keep your workforce healthy and productive. Outpatient Rehabilitation The Outpatient Rehabilitation Services provide a patient-centered team approach to engage patients in successful recovery of and returning to their highest level of function. The experienced team of therapist all work together to provide you with the quality, comprehensive treatment to assist in your recovery. We utilize specialized technologies such as: lymphedema treatment, Vital stim Therapy (to improve swallowing), LSVT-Loud Therapy (to restore communication), Balance Master (to improve balance), and Lite Gait (to restore walking).
