On the 26th of December a tsunami caused by an earthquake hit South Asia leaving a trail of destruction. The recorded death toll was 227,898 making it one of the worst known natural disasters.

Hurricane Sandy developed from a tropical wave in the western Caribbean Sea on October 22. Many buildings were damaged.

North American Ice Storm(1998)

Ice Storms are very common in north America and Canada 1998 brought one of the worst storms people had seen before. 12.7 centimetres (five inches) of freezing rain fell over 80 hours, crystallising on anything it touched, taking down power lines, felling trees and making roads impassable everywhere.
