About UsTMCkids is committed to the importance of strong design, lasting quality and exceptional service to our customers. Since introducing
our unique, colorful, laser-cut furniture for adults and children, TMC has continuously developed visionary styling for the educatiion market.
Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, TMC was started (and is still owned) by artists and designers who share the
philosophy that design, innovation and customization are the core to modern US manufacturing. Our interest is not in producing furniture
by the container-load. We are enamored of traditional made-to-order production methods and values, and by establishing our factory in
Grand Rapids, we have been able to tap the city’s rich history of furniture-craft.
With an acclaimed portfolio of elegant, whimsical and captivating laser-cut designs, a beautiful palette of wood finish colors and a broad
selection of materials, TMCkids offers customers a wide selection of highly versatile product. And if you don’t find what you like in our
standard product, TMC’s self-developed “options-based” software and production systems will allow you complete customization for
seating, casegoods, and built-in millwork.
The K-12 market is a diverse cross section of education. Providing furniture for
students who are growing and developing new needs in the classroom is a challenge
for many designers today. TMC offers the ability to select furniture that can transi-
tion with students, not only as they grow and mature but as their learning methods
advance. Developed for the kindergarten and elementary ages, our playful perimeter
cut-outs, vibrant colors and well-engineered chairs and tables provide students with
furniture that is made for them, not just re-purposed for the smaller set. We pride
ourselves on creating a furniture line that is developed specifically for children. For
students entering high school, TMC has created a teen line that allows a seamless
transition from small-scale furniture to more adult designs. Whiteboard occasional
tables on casters facilitate study group discussions, modular lounge chairs work
perfectly in school libraries and stackable sled base chairs combine sleek metal and
beautiful wood for large meeting rooms and cafeterias.
TMC’s furniture has also been developed to last through continued use in
high traffic areas, making our collections a perfect choice for classrooms and areas
that are used heavily throughout the day. In addition to providing furnishings that can
last through extended use, TMC has the ability to design custom pieces made specifi-
cally for a pre-school, elementary school, or high school. We are able to work with
designers to craft an eye-catching piece.

Dark wood, comfortable lounges and ample seating give this common room a
variety of different uses and a stylish feel. Students can meet in groups, work
at one of the spacious trestle base tables, or read in a
comfortable Algonquin Lounge Chair.
When it came to update the commons area at Cranbrook Upper School, the designers turned to TMC to capture the look and feel of this prestigious building by architect Eliel Saarinen. The faculty had students design the cut-outs taking inspiration from the building’s window treatments and architectural elements.

EnShell Chairs, with a stacking metal sled base act as perfect seating options for large classrooms,
while providing an easy rearranging and stacking capability. The Forbo linoleum face on the EnShell
makes this product especially appropriate for the education market due to the surface’s easy to clean
and antimicrobial attributes. The EnShell is available in 18" seat height as well as 17" seat height.
Modular Seating Modern school environments need to be flexible and ever changing.
TMC’s Whistler Modular Collection allows users to mix and match
