The International Society of Tropical Pediatrics (ISTP) in collaboration with the Indonesian Pediatric thSociety is delighted to inform you that we will be organizing the 11 International Congress of Tropical

th thPediatrics from 4 to 7 August 2017 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

As ISTP strives to improve the health of children throughout the tropics, we attain to hold this international congress tri-annually which become an event for pediatricians interested in tropical child health and representations of pediatric societies to meet and to promote the welfare of children in the tropics. This year theme will be,

“Global Challenges Interventions (prevention, control, elimination, and eradication) to Reduce Neglected Tropical Diseases: Improving Quality of New Generation.”

During this conference, we expect the attendance of over 500 participants from all over the world and will have research and program related presentations in different thematic areas including neglected tropical diseases, emerging and re-emerging diseases, dengue control, polio eradication, disaster, vaccine safety, travel medicine, health-care associated infections, and many more update in tropical pediatrics.

From the President of Indonesian Pediatric Society

Dear Colleagues,

Scienti�c concern to reduce the neglected tropical diseases has escalated in the last few years. Although the statistic shows these diseases have been declining in developed countries in recent years, however, the existence of these diseases is still found in the emerging countries such as Indonesia. It is our moral responsibilities as scientist and practisioner to combat those diseases and endeavor to improve the quality of our new generation.

th thOur 11 International Congress of Tropical Pediatrics (11 ICTP) has chosen this year theme: “Global Challenges Interventions to reduce the Neglected Tropical Diseases and to improve Quality of New Generation. The theme is aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our goal is to end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, hepatitis, water-borne diseases and other communicable diseases by 2030.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The average daily temperature range between 26 degree and 28 degree Celsius with its minimum 18 degree C and maximum 35 degree C respectively. Average humidity is 74% with its minimum of 65% and maximum 84% respectively. The Yogyakarta Special Region lays approximately 7 South of the equator line and is bathed in tropical; sunshine along the year. This region has a tropic climate the daily atmosphere feels a little bit hot and humid.

All foreigners wishing to enter Indonesia must have a Passport valid for at least six (6) months from the date of arrival along with proof (tickets) on onward or return passage. Please contact the Indonesia Embassy/Consulate in your country before the congress in order to check if your require any other immigration procedures to visit Indonesia.

Invitation letter or other necessary document to obtain Indonesia Visa will be provided by the Secretariat of 11th ICTP 2017 based on request. However this letter aims to assist participants for their travel to Indonesia and does not imply any commitment for the Organization Committee to provide �nancial support.

Yogyakarta, being part of Indonesia, uses the Indonesian currency, the Rupiah (abbreviated, Rp.) as its monetary unit. Most hotels, restaurants, and souvenir shop accept certain foreign currencies and credit card. Bank notes come in a range of denomination of IDR 100,000, IDR 50,000, IDR 20,000, IDR 10,000, IDR 5,000, IDR 2,000, and IDR 1,000.
